Shakes.... YUCK! Bars, Ok... I really like the banana nut candy bar, but that is because it is the only banana flavored one I've found so far... LOL. The cinamon bun meal bars are like the Morning start ones... but more expensive (at least at Walmart)... Haven't tried the other flavors.

check the grams of protein and carb count and compare to Designers Whey protein powder (really good when blended with diet rite orange soda-tastes like a creamsicle!). I bet the slim fast is gonna be more expensive. But in a situation where you have no ability to whip up a shake in a blender (at work/running errands) I'm sure it would be fine. Just check the ingedients and the nutritional label.

No, protein shakes and meal substitutes in a can aren't allowed on CAD/CALP. I do miss the convenience of having a shake for breakfast, but not the subsequent cravings that even artificial sweeteners cause me.

I picked up a few of these at walmart. I think it was $4 and something for 4 cans. I took them to work to keep on hand for a snack. To my surprise, they were they best shakes I have tried so far.

I tried one of the Bananna Nut bars. It was ok, but I think it gave me an insulin reaction because I was ravenous an hour later, so I won't try them again.

I, too, like the SlimFast Succeed low-carb banana nut bar.
One of the few bars that I can really stomach.
Wouldn't have expected it from Slimfast!!

I haven't tried them yet, but was curious...so today I checked them out at the grocery store...did you see that there are 11 grams of sugar alcohol? I haven't picked up my book in a while...but I thought Atkins said no to the sugar alcohols...am I wrong?

Atkins products have sugar alcohols as well.

It's a go by your own body. Many people do stall with sugar alcohols, or at least get nasty stomach aches. And of course they are a no-no on induction.

Many find occasional treats with sugar alcohols aren't a problem as long as they don't over due. Watch for bloating, gas, and other tumy troubles though.

Don't use sugar alcohols unless you know how your body responds. And the response can intensify with use. The first time I had some, it was mild, but has gotten steadily worse. I keep some SF chocolates on hand now to use as a laxative. Works faster than any thing else available....

Default new use for LC Slimfast

[COLOR=Green]I pour the shake into a plastic dish and then freeze it (stirring every half hour or so) until it is slush. Then I tell DH it is ice cream. He eats it, and does not feel deprived.......

The peanutbutter LC SF bars are good too, but the brownies are terrible.[FONT=Arial]
