i'm so glad i came across this thread! this is my first day back on atkins induction after having maintained the weight loss for a few months. that is a victory. i have always had a bad body image problem and couldn't stand looking at myself; and this last week while i was in florida i saw myself on my g'pa's video tape and watched it and watched it until i got through being ashamed. and i wish i could find a way to post my before pic and my midway pic, which was taken last week, because i'm so excited now that my head's cleared, i know that every loss makes a difference and i'm ready to lose the last thirty pounds-already lost forty...but this thread's been great motivation!!

Ah, I'm glad this thread was brought back to life. I have a few more small victories from the last few weeks:

1. Having my size-4 sister, who last saw me 48 pounds ago, call me "a friggin' skeleton."

2. Enjoying the look on my cousin's face when she "caught" me eating veggies on my supposed bacon-and-eggs-only diet. Ha!

3. Losing a pound, rather than just maintaining, over the holidays.

4. Getting back on the exercise machine this morning.

5. Just saying "NO" to sugar alcohols.

Thanks Jeanne...I'm hardly a skeleton at size 12, but it was nice to hear nonetheless. My family has always been prone to hyperbole!

My most important one is being able to wear my wedding ring again. I felt so disgusted with myself I tried for months to hide it from my husband that I had gained so much weight It wouldn't even fit on my finger.

But no more, it's getting close to having to resize it down some.

Talking dirty little victories

I was the one that started the belly jiggle with sex theme with this post. so forgive me if i am a little crude, but its what made me happiest, i just to keep a sheet over my belly so my DH would not see it jiggle, now no more sheet and i will even keep the lights on !!!!

but today i was going through my closet and tried on some cloths that used to be to small and some that used to fit just right, now the ones that were to small fit just right and those that fit just right are to big!!!!! i fit into a size 11/12 sun dress i had... way to cold to ware it now but hey it fits!!!

on the dirtier side.... all the teddies i used to ware all the time that got way to small are now one by one starting to fit! much to my husbands hapieness!

oh well that all for now bye

Petcrazed,

I can sure relate to the teddies that used to be too small! My DH is definitely enjoying this WOL!

Today's victory: wearing JEANS to work (with a belt, no less!) and getting tons of compliments! That's actually 3 victories--I haven't OWNED jeans in 5 years (not since the size 28s got TOO SMALL) (and these are looking almost a little too big at size 24); the belt is one I put away 3 years ago (and now I'm on the 4th hole); and being greeted with "Wow! Are you stylin'!" just felt good and victorious.

I think this thread is great. And my most recent victory is re-starting Induction on 1 January, and already losing almost 6 pounds. It is so unbelievable that these delicious menus I make can actually cause the weight to come off. It just doesn't compute! And it is so effortless!!!

Another thing that dawned on me is that when I first signed up, I used to look at other people's stats and think, wow, they lost 30 pounds - that's incredible, they are so amazing. I wondered how they managed to do that, and now I realise I have those kinds of stats myself. That was a buzz!

And, finally I fit into my size 14 jeans. Which could either be getting big, or stretching from wearing them yesterday. After a wash I'll know for sure.

Going to the Dells Indoor Waterpark in two weeks and not feeling totally embarrassed about sitting around in a swimsuit. Maybe I'll even relax in a lounge chair without a towel hiding my middle. WhoooHooo.

Hi again Hilary...I know what you mean by this. My boss told me a few weeks ago that I was "wasting away to nothing." I'm still a 14, so this was an exagerration to be sure -- but it REALLY felt good to hear.
