Default Atkins Brownie Bars

I was just wondering how long you should wait to have the atkins brownie bars. They defiantly look really good. I know that you can`t have the Atkins Bread until after induction but it never said anything on the label for the bars. I was just wonderin if any body knew. Also can I start having the atkins bread as soon as my two weeks is up or should I wait longer?

I "think" you should wait till after induction, although Ive never been able to make it through induction without candy. If you have to have one include it in your carb count. Some people have a stall in weight loss, and others are just fine with it.

The reason for Induction is to help a person get away from wanting sweets, although it never completely cured me.

When we really needed something on Induction, we made a mocha drink using a couple tablespoons of cream in a coffee cup, the rest filled with water, add a little instant decaf coffee, some cocoa, Splenda, stir and heat in the microwave. It worked wonders!

I'm really hesitant about buying ANY of the Atkins products for several reasons. One is that at one point I ate a piece of one candy bar and it upset my stomach horribly. Two is that I read the results of taste tests where the Atkins products were far inferior to competitor products. And three is that they're so darned expensive! So far we've managed to come up with a scratch LC recipe for just about everything we really like to eat once in a blue moon including pancakes and baking powder biscuits.

I personally can't stand the one LC bread I've tried because it was too spongey. I made a dinner roll for Thanksgiving that turned out relatively well, but haven't had time to fiddle with the recipe since. Even as it was it was WAAAAYYYY better than the store-bought bread.

I bought a brownie from the health store the other day(about 2.5oz) at it was only 1 1/2c. Im not kidding you, this was the best low carb brownie I have ever tasted!!!! I was in packaging like it was homemade, you know what I mean? It just says controlled carb cocunut brownie on front. I also got the walnut brownie. I couldnt eat the whole thing so I snacked on it throughout the day. It was soooooo goood!!!!!!!!!!

Start with a "clean" Induction. Use your "search" button or go to the forum on LC foods. Loads of information and opinions are posted. Unlike LilaCotton, I think the Atkins products are far superior to other brands. It is all a matter of taste. I don't use them often because, for ME, the whole point of this WOE is to get away from "junk" food and snacks, and to focus on fresh, real food. You will really have to see how you do using LC products...some can eat all of them with no gain or stall, some can't touch them because of side-effects or because they stall out.

I used some of the low-carb bars while in induction because of their portability. I did it primarily because I was afraid of being stuck at work or somewhere else without a meal option. My fear was that I'd be so hungry that I'd end up eating french fries.

I didn't experience any problems losing that I could attribute to the low-carb bars. I can tell you many of those bars contain sugar alcohols that don't agree with MY system very well. You might want to read about sugar alcohols here . Not all low-carb bars contain them, but many do. I had to stop eating them because it just wasn't worth feeling so terrible. I found other portable food options. Also, I'll tell you that once I was out of the carb cycle, I no longer craved sweets at all. Having a low-carb bar was merely a way to have a portable meal. I'm lucky...it was never about have a low-carb alternative to chocolate or sweets.
