Default Fitday question

How come on Fitday there is such a difference between the net carb count of a cup of frozen unsweetened strawberries (15) versus the net carb of 1 cup of the raw kind (7)?

I would guess that it's because the unsweetened ones have been frozen and are a little mushy from the freeze-thaw process. That would allow more of them to fit into a cup measure. The firmer raw (never been frozen) ones wouldn't pack down as much.

Yep, agree with Tag's explaination...thaw out frozen berries and they get mushy thus you get more volume per cup.

Ahhh maks sense. Thanks, yvonne and tag. I usually make smoothies from the frozen ones, so I'm relieved to know they have as much carbs as the raw ones. Just don't thaw them out first!
