Lightbulb Looking for suggestions: rewards!

Hi all!
I am looking for any suggestions for non food rewards... seems like a "treat" is the first thing to pop into my head... so I want to have a list at the ready to give myself a good reward that isn't a cheat!
Some suggestions so far....

Jewellery
Manicure
Bubble bath
Book
CD

Please add to the list, in all price ranges (including FREE, of course!!)!

Thanks,

Jenn

Massarge? I always told myself when I get to a certain point I would get one, I still don't want anyone touching my body yet though.

I made a deal with my hubby last summer that come the next summer, when we were thin we would try parasailing! Now I will have to see if I can get my nerve up for it.

Maybe a new pair of pants.
Or a new shirt (they last longer on most people.)
I love hats, personally.
Also renting a really stupid movie and making fun of it with friends and a glass of wine (low carb dry red, of course.)
A low carb cookbook to keep you on track.
Fantastic coffee or teas make me very happy, not that expensive, and offer the enjoyment of a treat with low carbs.

I vote for a new outfit. It's a good reward, and you'll need it, since your body is changing shape! It doesn't have to be expensive, but you can find something flattering that you wouldn't have worn before.

Manicures, pedicures, facials, massages, clothes, shoes, jewelry, handbags, etc.

So I'm a bit of a high-maintenance gal!

Hey Marytu: Don't be scared of the parasailing. I did it a couple of years ago when I was heavy and I don't regret it one bit. It was awesome!!!! Have fun and go for it!!

For every 10 pounds I lose I treat myself out to a movie. I'm not comfortable with buying clothes yet because I still have quite a bit more weight to lose and I am a cheapskate who won't spend money on clothing I can't use for very long. Maybe a nice blouse would be okay but definitely no pants. That's why I opt for a movie out minus the drink and popcorn.

I definitely agree with the new outfit. Although, there are alot of good suggestions here. A new outfit helps you see your getting smaller.

My plan is a boob job. That is going to be a long time and more of a graduation/saving that much type of reward.

I'm close to my origional goal, but debating trying for 125. I am disatisfied with parts of me atm, but not overall so I may stay here. Maybe a small reward would be a good idea to kind of make goal official and keep me from constantly lowering it. I just have no clue what.

Have my b-day coming up too. That may set me back a couple pounds. Depends on if I can have a b-day dinenr LC (like Ruby Tuesdays) or if I hit dessert and drink at Applebees

Think about things you like
Take a class or pick up a hobby
New shoes (I LOVE shoes!!!)
Buy a good facial steamer and learn to give yourself facials
or go out and get one and get spoiled
manicures
pedicures
massage
new candles or aromatherapy stuff
take a day trip or a long scenic train ride and appreciate the view
clothing
makeup
bath and body stuff
buy a new painting
every pound lost put $X aside
and then after you reach mini goals go spend it
New book
CD
DVD
Computer program
go out to see a movie
Theater tickets
Go dancing
start a collection (dolls, coins, vintage art etc.) keep adding to it as the weight loss progresses
I know someone who started a christmas village and every week as long as she dropped on the scale she got something else to add to the village and now its huge and takes up an entire room.
Can always get a new bra or panties or something sexy
something that will make you feel better about your weight loss

not to mention seeing the scale go down is a reward in and of itself.

Good luck,

MJ

I'm a very goal oriented person.... The bigger the goal, the harder I am willing to work on it. So the day I started this program, I set a goal...

The day I make my target weight, I'm booking a vacation to Australia. I've always wanted to see it, but the thought of spending all that time in coach class at my current weight is just dreadful.

So I'm on my way, and I'm saving money.

A few years ago (2 pregnancies ago ) I lost about 30 pounds. I bought an empty charm bracelet and every 5 pounds and every personal goal met, I bought a charm to add to it. It's a beautiful keepsake, and a nice reminder of all the hard work I did. I will add to it when I reach goal this time too.

Thumbs up Wonderful suggestions!!!

Thanks everyone! Those are some wonderful suggestions!!
I think my absolute favorite is the charm bracelet... I've noticed recently that a local store is carrying some new style of charm bracelet, the charms attach right on, they don't dangle. The bracelets are made up of silver squares, and you attach the charms right on to them. I think I'll check those out, see how much they cost....
Some of my other favorites:
-handbags & shoes (if I call them a reward, maybe I'll stop getting harrassed for having so many!)
-buy a new painting
-putting money aside (I'm doing this already, $10 per pound to buy new clothes like underwear etc, once mine don't fit anymore... I'm down 16 already and my clothes are still fitting fine, so I know there will be enough to get some nice things by the time my clothes are really poorly fitting.)

Clothes are good too, but I admit that I am also a bit too much of a cheapskate to buy clothes that I know are only for the interim. I'd rather wear the ones I have until I absolutely cannot, or get them altered by a friend, until I reach my goal, or at least get to the point where I can still wear the clothes after I reach my goal.

Thanks everyone! Keep 'em coming!!

Jenn
