Default not enough carbs?

I was reading somwhere that you can have too little carbs, and then you wont get the 'metabolic advantage'. Well I have 1300-1800 calories a day, but sometimes my carb intake is as low as 5 in a day. Could this be what is preventing me from losing weight? (Been on induction for a week and seen no changes in either measurements or waist.)

Hi there Shay,

I don't believe that having too few carbs will cause any problems. However, you don't gain any advantage by dropping them below 20. In fact the original Atkins plan only had about 5 carbs, but Dr A found over the years that people lost just as much with 20 carbs, therefore he increased the Induction level. So please, eat up those healthy vegies.

As for your lack of weight loss, I think it's simply because your body is a little smarter than you are. At 5'5 and 132 pounds, you are smack in the middle of the healthy weight range. 110 will actually leave you a little underweight.
I'm sure you will be able to lose a few pounds and remain healthy, but it will be slow. Remember that eating low carb is about more than weight loss - it is also about improving your health.

All the best!

Rosebud

Default yeah

I used to be 110, but then I started binge eating really badly and shot up to 132 in only a few months...o_O One reason I started Atkins was because I wanted to be able to stop bingeing on things like...doughnuts. lol. None of my clothes fit anymore T_T
I'll keep in mind what you said though, and try to go for more veggies ^_^
