Default carbohydrate addicts

Hello folks, I have just now registered for this forum, I would like to know if anyone has tried or is trying the carbohydrate addicts diet. I started on it 11/15/03 along with my wife, her sister, and her sisters husband. So far we have been showing good progress. Although the urge to eat some sweets is almost overpowering.[FONT=Times New Roman][SIZE=4]

Hi

Although I don't follow CAD (Carbohydrate Addicts Diet) myself, there are lots of people here who do

In the meantime, why don't you have a look at the CAD/CALP section where specific CAD help and advice can be found

Another way is to read the journals of people on CAD or CALP .you will read of people struggles and expectations.
Look for “VEL” s journal .She lost over 100 pounds on it and she is still losing
.You should start a journal.

I’ve been on the Heller & Heller Carbohydrates Addicts plan for a few years and swear by it. Don’t worry about those cravings, if you stick to the plan they will go away.
Good luck

Question

Thanks for the reply. I have another question, it's kinda personal. Is it usual when you start this diet to have a change in your bowel movements? constipation, change in color and size of stool?
Glad I don't have a web cam, my face would be a bit red now

Yes, it's normal on any diet for your stool to change. After a while, the body adjusts and things get back to normal. There's a lot of info on here about it--just type constipation into the search bar and you'll find a lot of help!

Water, Water, Water
You MUST drink enough water during the day, m~nien. It will help to keep you from being constipated.

I have a friend who put her diabetic live in boyfriend on this diet, he was one of those teddy bear types with the huge belly, and he's actually the smallest one in his family. Within 2 weeks his face seemed thinner. In about 3 weeks his belly was definitely going down and he said his arms seemed to actually have more muscle. Then she lost her focus, and I guess it was all for naught. One thing she mentioned though, before starting the diet, was that if he started eating any kind of carbs, he couldn't quit till the package was empty.

Thank you all for the replies. I am losing some weight (if the scales are to be believed) and still having constipation problems, However the night before last I ate a coffee mug full of rasins and yesterday my bowels moved normal. But boy oh boy there are lots of carbs in rasins.

Other less carby solutions are Vitamin C, magnesium, psyllium husk capsules and lots of vegetables and salad.

Or if you want REAL fast help, try eating several of the maltitol-sweetened candy bars like Atkins Endulge, Carborite or Ross. Then STAY near the bathroom.

Hey those candy bars sound real good to someone whos hasn't tasted sweets for a month. Can I buy them at Wal-Mart or do I have to go to a health store.
Whew, talk about salads, I'm overloaded with them. I eat salad for lunch, salad before supper and sometimes salad for snack.
