Default Cheese

I know this may have been said before and i apologise if this has been done to death but

I cant seem to lose any weight if i eat cheese/cream

I dont eat mouthfuls only a small portion - but even then it slows my weight loss right down

Is this common?

Thanks xxx

I eat all the cheese in site and it doesn't seem to affect me. However, cheese is known to stall some. Unfortunately, you are probably one of the unlucky ones.

There has been some talk about it before, it doesnt affect me so I didn't pay that close attention to it. I do know that you are not alone though. Hang in there, someone will come around and help you figure out what is going on.

Atkins talks about how the food we crave the most can often be what we are intolerent too. I love cheese. Brie, goat's, colby jack, cottage cheese, cream cheese, all of it is so wonderful. I also love cream whipped with fruit, coconut, ricotta, or just some DiVincci syrup, yummmm.

However it stalls me like mad. Whipped cream sutomaticaly makes me severly crave more. I have a problem with portion contorl on other cheeses, and even a little seems to stall me. I have found that very small amounts of fresh cheeses (cream cheese, mozza, cottage cheese) and things such as small amounts of sour cream and yogurt I can take. It could be related to candidia overgrowth and mild lactose intolerence.

I did order an electric yogurt maker and plan to use the LC milk (3net carbs per 8oz cup). I plan to make yogurt and possibly yogurt cheese. Maybe that I can handle

LadyBelle, let me know how the yogurt you make yourself turns out. I, too, have trouble with stalling with cheese and have deleted all dairy products from my diet. I seem to have a constant congestion from something. Each time I remove an item from the diet, I feel better. Just removed the 1 1/2 oz of cream cheese that was the end of the dairy. Hope it helps.

I know we should limit portions on cheese, but I notice on lots of cheese I buy it says 0 carbs...does that mean that cheese is safe or better than those that have some carbs?

Food in the US can have 0.9 carbs and be listed as 0 carbs. If you notice the serving size is also just 1oz most of the time. If youc an stop at 1oz for the day, then it's not bad. When you start having more then a serving it can add up.

Some people are just intolerent to dairy and even at 0 carbs it can still cause problems. People with a candidia overgrowth (which I think I get from time to time) have to avoid all aged and mold containing cheeses. Small amounts of mozzarella, cream cheese, and other fresh dairy won't effect them as badly.

If you think induction is boring, you should try an induciton modified for candidia. No cheese, nuts, any condiments containing sugar, vinigar, or fermented products like soy sauce.

I have been doing the above along with trying not to add vegetables such as broccoli, cauliflower, kale, spinach, etc. that some say interfere with the thyroid. BORING. But so far this tactic has been successful. I do miss my cream cheese.
