Default Yeast in my blood and I'm confused

Ok. I have been having insane symptoms for about 10 years. I eat a lot of pasta and bread and sugar. I've been having these "blood sugar attacks" for years. Only my blood sugar doesn't dip below 74. I feel tired and anxious constantly. I cannot do anything in the morning unless I eat. And every day by lunchtime I get this fogginess in my head and shake and feel like im on another planet. I have had all kinds of blood tests, and everything came back normal. I went to a Nutrionist the other day and he told me that I have yeast in my blood as well as crystals and some other stuff and that I am full of toxins and am VERY acidic. Some of my cells look like bottle caps. When we looked at the blood under the microscope I had yeast but it didnt look like a lot. One area though was heavily concentrated with it. Does that still mean that I have a problem with it. I started the low carb diet the on Thursday and I am feeling Euphoric. I also get really hungry and crave carbs. Also, I'm very hungry again shortly after I eat. When I exert myself I get shaky and really hungry. I shake, sweat, and my feet and hands feel really warm. He told me that this is the Die Off of the yeast? Can somebody help me? Am I properly diagnosed?! This diet is really confusing me. He want's me to go hardcore Vegan but I just can't. I can't live on nuts and bee pollen. Please Help.

I didn't know that someone could see yeast in a blood sample.

Your symptoms do sound like what carb-sensitive people get from eating carbs. LCing will probably help that - it certainly did in my case.

I would make some suggestions:

1. read an LC book, any LC book. Dr. Atkins book has a whole chapter on yeast and LC. You can get the book at many libraries for free or second hand for not very much. BUt better to buy your own.

2. go to the Candida Yeast & IBS area of this board and do some reading. A lot of questions have already been asked and answered and you may find the information you want. http://forum.lowcarber.org/forumdisplay.php?f=77

3. I hope you are not trying to lose weight. At 5'5" tall and 105 pound, you are under the range that is considered healthy. I don't think you ought to be doing Induction. The shakiness can come from not eating enough carbs or perhaps simply not eating enough calories. This can be dangerous to your health.

Low carbing is much more likely to help a yeast problem IF that is what you have. I certainly won't try to diagnose the problem. Please read a book and get the straight goods from a medical doctor.

My DH is a medical technologist and he says you can have yeast in your blood that is from a yeast infection. It is a fungal infection that has a lot of different causes. You need to have a medical doctor look at this and not just a nutritionist.

BTW...DH also says unless you had blood cultures that they grew over time there is no way to just look at your blood and see yeast. You would need to grow the blood cultures for at least 24 hours and up to 21 days. If the nutritionist just looked at fresh blood and told you this, it is not accurate and would be unethical practice that should be reported.

Please, do NOT go back to this charlatan nutritionist. Nutritionists are about as qualified at doing bloodwork as lab techs like me are qualified at giving sound nutrition advice. (At least the advice I give is straight from the book(s)! )

The "acidic" and "full of toxins" stuff is bull. If you were "acidic", you'd be in the intensive care unit.

>>" He want's me to go hardcore Vegan but I just can't."

Hmmm... sounds like someone using scare tactics to try to push an agenda. Please see a real MD and get some (real) bloodwork done.

Keep us posted.
