Default Help-Disney World

We are going on a family facation this week to Florida. We are going to Disney World and will be eating all of our meals out. I'm trying to keep fat levels high and carbs low. Any suggestions for food?

Hmmmm..... well, my advice would be to head on over to Epcot Center and check out the Le Cellier Steakhouse and the German restaraunt called Biergarten. They should supply you with all kinds of high-fat, low-carbohydrate meat, salad, and cheese-type yummies that are absolutely gourmet in taste, and not all THAT expensive as far as theme-park food goes. Animal Kingdom has the Flametree Barbecue, which the site says is even cheaper. I would strongly advise against buying food from the Magic Kingdom or MGM studios, though.... their restaurants are really-designed to be more 'kid-friendly', which means lots of pasta, ice cream, , pastries, candy EVERYWHERE you go, etc. *shudders* If you MUST eat there, find yourself one of the smaller burger/hotdog stands and remove the bun so that you will not have to deal with all the sugary junk in restaurants....provided you are not a fellow veggie, of course. At any rate, it'd probably be a good idea to keep some small snacks in your purse or pocket while roaming the park(s).

Hope this was helpful! Enjoy your trip, as it is to a wonderful place!

They also have giant turkey legs everywhere you turn! Breakfast is easy! Eggs, bacon, sausage, and all that good stuff is always easy to find! Infact, thinking back, doing low carb there shouldn't be hard at all! The hard part will be not eating the high carb goodies!!!!!!

Thanks-
I forgot about the turkey legs. That will be helpful at Mgic Kingdom. We have two small children and that will be the place where we spend most of our time. Angie

If you have kids who want to have a "Character" meal, the buffet at Chef Mickey's at the Contemporary resort has many low carb choices, including prime rib and turkey carving stations, veggies and salad. You need to make priority reservations.
