Default Someone didn't recognize me

I ran into someone yesterday who I hadn't seen in over a year and she did not recognize me until I started talking to her. She was amazed at how different I look. If you ever doubt that the single pound losses add up to make a difference, let me tell you that they do! I haven't lost particularly rapidly -- 95 pounds in 15 months averages out to a little over 6 pounds a month (not all that much for someone with as much to lose as I have) -- but it has made a big difference in my appearance and an even bigger difference in how I feel and what I am able to do.

I bet that made you feel really good. I think you're right, sometime we forget how far we've come. God knows, I'm guilty of that.

Congratulations.

Wooohooooo Liz....I think that would be the ultimate (not to have someone recognize you because you've lost so much weight) I've usually had the other extreme...

That's a great story, Liz! I had a similar experience a month or so ago. A former co-worker who had been downsized when we cut back about a year ago was back for a visit. When I walked past her, I overheard her ask, "Who's that?"

Woooooohooooooo, Liz!! That must have felt sooooo good. I had company a few weeks ago and my friend's daughter (who is 6) said "wow, June, you have lost A LOT of weight!!!" I was a little surprised since I figured most kids are in thier own worlds and don't pay much attention to what's going on w/the grownups, but it did feel pretty good.

Congrats, Liz! Hmmm... this may also be benifical if you see someone you don't like -- you can just keep walking and totally ignore them! They'd never know it was you. heh heh heh

Keep up the good work!

Liz,

That is awesome!!! I can't wait to not be recognized. I'm very slow noticing that my face is a tiny bit slimmer, but at 30 lbs lost I don't expect much.

That had to be a wonderful feeling. Imagine the other person's surprise when they realized it was you! I can't wait for that day myself! Hopefully everyone on this board will get to experience that feeling!
