Default hey

Hi all, It's been a long 6 months since i started A low carb diet but i love the results! I've been dieting since march of 2001 and met someone who lost 100 lbs on atkins so i tried it and im convinced its the way to go. before i was doing the whole low fat diet thing but it was slow, really slow. but im at a stand still now because I had been slowley eating the wrong thins again...not to bad but enough to stall my weight loss. As of today im back on this ride full time till i dump these last 60 lbs....so, my question is this...how easy is it to gain the weight back after you finally hit your goal weight? would atkins all week then going off on the weekends only be a bad thing?

Hi and welcome!

Atkins is like any other diet. If you stop doing it when you lose the weight, you will gain it back. This does not mean that you can't ever have anything "illegal" again. It just means that you have to be willing to make a lifestyle change and not just do this as a temporary fix. There are other low carb plans (like CAD) that allows a reward meal per day. As I understand it, you can have something special for it but it must be eaten within an hour. You would need to read up on all the rules for it though as I don't know much about it.

Anyway, I just wanted to say hi and welcome you to the forum! Good luck! Glad you are here with us.

Congratulations on your awesome success so far. Wow!
