Default Halloween Costumes

I have noticed a lot of "inflatable" halloween costumes. I was in the mall and in the window was a fat suit for a woman with pasties and a G-string on it. I could not believe my eyes. Has anyone else seen them? Am I being overly sensitive? When I saw that costume it stopped me dead in my tracks.

I saw them too. I am sorry but I laughed so loud. I thought they were funny. Halloween is about fun. Its a time to make yourself look differant and have a good time. Funny thing is everyone in my town knows me. I do a crazy costume every year to take the kids trick or treating. Last year I wore no shirt painted myself blue wore a pair of harem pants. Added pointing ears. I was a giant Jeanie. I even shaved my head.

I saw them and I did NOT think they were funny at all. It's just another way that society let's us know that it is "OK" to make fun of fat people. I HATE that kids are seeing this and thinking that it's ok.

Oh, and just for the record, I am a HALLOWEEN NUT!! Don't believe me? Check this out: http://members.aol.com/juneu627/Halloween

Maybe I am internalizing. When I saw that fat woman costume I was so embarrassed. I have lost 69 pounds but it reduced me to feeling bad about myself.

Sorry I have no pictures. But come on people if we cant laugh at ourselves who can? Every funny costume out there is making fun of something. I was Fat bastard from Austin powers 2 years ago. My wife has small boobs and last year her costume made them huge... Did this make big boobed woman mad? I think not. A costume is a costume not a reflection of bias and misery. So what we are fat? We know it they know it everyone knows it. Why hide it embrace it. Love yourself for who you are. I dont hide it at all. I mow the grass with no shirt. I wear shorts. I go to public pools and swim and have fun with my children. Or even by myself. I dont let my "fat" get in the way of anything I want to do. I can look at a costume not as a fat person but as a person and see the fun in it. Lets face it the rest of the world is going to go on and have a good time. Why should we let it happen and feel sorry for ourselves. Its just a stupid costume

I understand that the costume upset you. But I think that others don't see it the same as you do. It's a personal feeling that you have about it.
You are entitled to feel upset about it. It's subsconcious, There are things that upset me terribly that don't bother anybody else! But I have to deal with it.

But on another note Here are pict from a halloween party I had a couple of years ago, DH & I dressed as Gomez & Morticia.

Wenzday,
I my opinion they are the best partys of the year!!!!! My mom was born on halloween so its always been a huge time in my family since I was born.

I also understand being upset about the costume. But I think life is to short to sweat those small things.
