Default My Day In NYC

Went into NYC today to see the Broadway play "Little Shop of Horrors" and had lunch at ESPN Zone (Go Yankees) and dinner at Carmines. Had a great day....loved the play. And was cheat free all day, even around all that food. Yes, it is possible to go out and have a terrific time and stick to the wol. Anyone in the NY Metro area thinking of seeing Little Shop - it was totally awesome. If you can get in, go see it.

Default yum, carmines

Glad you had a good time. I live in NYC and have lived here all my life. It definitely wears you out but the nightlife is like no other. The bars, restaurants, and shows are all wonderful. What did you have at Carmines??? I haven't been there in a while, and I really don't trust myself to go to restaurants just yet.

If in the city again soon, there is a restaurant called Ola, the chef worked at Pipa and Chicama before. He's on Atkins and makes very low carb dishes. I think it's on 48th street on the east side. If anyones tries it out please let me know what you think.

Default Food Choices in NYC

First we went to ESPN Zone to watch the Yankee game. I had buffalo wings with celery and blue cheese dressing. Also had a little spinach artichoke cheese dip with the celery. At Carmines I had the caesar salad, 1 meatball and the chicken scappoleni (spell ?). There was a lot of food on the table since it is served family style but, surprisingly, my stomach must have shrunk since I was full with what I ate. I kept whining for a chocolate cannoli and my daughter wanted us to order the "Titanic" ice cream dessert but instead we settled on a side order of eggplant parmiagiana that was tremendous! Very light tasting with layers and layers of eggplant. I didnt see any bread crumbs but I am sure it was fried in some kind of flour. But my ketostix today are bright purple so I did not do badly at all. Did a lot of walking around NYC so that also helped. It is amazing to me that my choices have changed so drastically from what I would normally eat. And the play was really fantastic also so it was a good all-around day
