Thumbs down Beware of Famous Dave's Buffalo Wings!

A group of co-workers and I went to Famous Dave's BBQ for a co-workers birthday. Originally, I wasn't going to go but after looking at their menu online and seeing they had Buffalo Wings, I decide to go along.

I asked the waitress if the wings were breaded and she said no. Good, I'll have an order of Buffalo Wings and water.

When the wings arrived they looked suspicious, far too glossy and dark to be just hot sauce. I touched one and then licked my finger. They were sweet!

The waitress was understanding and took them off away and off the check. She also asked the cook about the sauce. Turns out it has honey in it.

So, be wary of the Buffalo Wings with hidden carbs at Famous Dave's.

Famous Dave's!

I generally order my wings plain (or "naked" if the waiter is really cute) - then I avoid that situation. You just never know.

hmmm - We always order their platter w/ ribs, chicken, brisquet & all the goodies. I skip the goodies and eat that wonderful meat! There are certainly plenty of good LC choices at Famous Daves (IMHO )

I'd never heard of Famous Dave's until last weekend when we went to check out Cabela's -- its in a developing area and the only restaurant to be seen was the BBQ.

I admit I was a bit skeptical, but when we looked at the menu, I was relieved to see you could order their ribs without sauce. Great stuff! I had that and a Salad, while my honey pigged out on all "the trimmings."

We have a Famous Dave's right by our house, but I have always avoided it because of the sauce. But if I can get ribs without sauce, I'm there!

Just want to relate an experience I had at Famous Dave's. I went there with my wife and we figured we'd split a meal and order a salad. (By the way, our old trick is to pick out a meal together and pick out an appetizer and split both of them-saves on bill and doesn't waste too much food.) Anyway, she had been eating the salad and then it was my turn. It tasted pretty good, then I noticed something moving in the salad!!! It was a ladybug! Not a big deal-I guess you can't watch everything all the time. But, talk about a weird experience. So, the waitress ended up taking off half the bill which I guess was ok.
Otherwise, all the other food was great and I still like the place.
