I have just posted my breakfast and already I am at 11 carbs...leaves less than half for rest of the day...
??? I am worried about eating more than 20 carbs...
I will replace light mayo with regular and get some butter...I find that against my thougths for healthy heart but will try. I did cook eggs in canola oil this am. Plans for dinner are bbq salmon and salad...lunch...on the go to grab some leftover pork.

Are you remembering to subtract your fiber carbs?

Subtract your fiber grams from your total carbohydrates, and you have your "net carbs".. Net carbs are the only thing you have to worry about when it comes to carb count.

I think one of the largest mistake I made when I first started was cocserving my carbs for other meals, only to find out I was only taking in 12-15 a day. Dont give up!!

Also there are things like sugar alchols (sp?) that also can be subtracted in carb counts.. This in my experience, has mostly happened when buying sugar free candy LOL.. But not everyone uses Splenda in sugar free items, and some have funny names.. I would suggest if you dont already, to pick up one of the LC books like Dr Atkins books...(I cant remember the name of mine, but its red, and usually white in the book store.. and its basically a all-about LC Diet book)

Laura...

Fitday gives you the numbers. Here's an example from one of my days:

Carbs: 22~ 78~ 5%
~~Fiber: 3~ 0~ 0%

So..I get to subtract 3g of fiber from my total of 22g Carbs for net Carbage of 19g.

HTH

Laura,
I agree with Marlaine's comment that each person ends up having to tweak Atkins to suit her or her body...which makes sense, doesn't it? I was in a stall a few weeks ago and people kept telling me to eat more, but I found that what helped was cutting out nuts and cheese. Maybe there is one type of food you are relying on that is causing a problem....these processes seem to be mysterious but I am very glad I didn't give up.

Good luck.

Diane

No truer words...I did great and felt better and then all of a sudden stayed so exhausted I was taking two naps a day. I was so tired I was afraid there was something wrong. Trying to stay below 20 carbs a day was my personal downfall...I ended up not taking in enough. Tweaking will help, and you will probably have to tweak throughout until you find what works best for you.

Like everyone has said--we need FAT and lots of WATER to make this weight loss program work. Keep trying kiddo--am sure you will soon run into the right thing for you. Check out Dr. A's book again. You might have a medication messing you up as someone else said. Good luck and hang in there!! Alice

I haven't ever had one, but that doesn't mean you won't. Don't be discouraged if the weight loss is slow...and be sure to take your measurements once a week. You may find the numbers on the scale don't reflect that is happening to your body.

Down 1 lb more at least...

Little exercise...I have bad knees...swim once per week and simple stretches. Will try some walking again too.
