Default I went to the hairdresser

at lunch time today. Sat down in the chair, in front of floor to ceiling mirror and florescent lighting and wanted to cry. It was a 15 minute walk so my face was beat red and of course when I sat down, out popped the "beached whale" spare tire, yuk. Talk about motivation! So glad I'm back on the wagon.

That is so interesting that you mention that because I have put off getting a haircut for a while now (hee, hair is down between shoulder blades!) because I can't STAND looking at my chubby face in the mirror with my hair slicked down wet on either side. My fiance thinks I am completely ridiculous, and I've felt ridiculous, so I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who gets a little down by the big mirror thing.

It didn't help that my hairdresser is about 25, gorgeous and about 110 lbs.

Oh but V and J...
Look at how far you both have come! Don't you dare start feeling low about yourselves! Think how much more rounder you would've looked had you both not lost your 10# and 6 #!!!

So Vbrowne, hope you got some cute, sassy, sexy haircut! You go!

Oh, I totally understand, MY hairdresser is a 5'7" tall Korean beauty queen.

OK, I'm not puking on her, just the whole concept of hairdressers who can't cut hair in flattering candle light without mirrors!

Annie-Pie, you're such a sweetie - you're a very positive person, which I've seen in a lot of your posts. Thanks.

I remember seeing myself in the mirror at the hairdressers and realizing how "fat" my face was right in the beginning of this WOE. It definitely was an eye opener. Recently, I went again to get a cut... I saw "me" and I liked what I saw

I love my new hair, it was aalmost to my waist and now it is at my arm pit, my BF pretends to like it, he likes the color but wants me to grow it out again! I said that is too damn bad lol My hair is so think that at the lenght before wearing it up means major headache, wearing it down, sweaty neck yuck! It took 45 minutes to blow dry! UGHH

Vikki,

Let me give you another scenario...

I've been LC'ing since June 15. I lost quickly at first, but my weight loss slowed over the past few weeks -- mostly because I wasn't exercising. So two weeks ago I dusted off the Nordic Trak and got serious about getting on the damn thing every morning. In the past 10 days, I have lost more than 2 inches from my waistline, and ALL of the sudden I'm looking MUCH more muscular. I can't WAIT to weigh myself this Sunday.

So this morning I walked into my bathroom, which has a vanity with a full-length mirror -- and I thought my eyes were FOOLING me. That tall, non-obese (too early to call myself thin) person couldn't be ME!! I wanted to cry.

The next time you get a haircut, that could happen to you. Hang in there. You can do it!!!

Jeannie

I know it will happen, Jeannie. It's actually another mechanism to keep me on track, I have 6 weeks until my next cut. Congrats on your progress, you're doing great.

Gee,

I know how u feel. I'm just starting and I went to Ultima just to pick up one thing. Before I know it, I was shopping for pressed face powder. While trying the tester on, I just notices my fat face with its previously unexamined hills. I was so disgusted. But I'm on my way to weight loss and you've already made good progress. Keep your head up.. and stay the course. This too will pass

I love all these comments, don't you all?

I think it's because we all have been there!
How about if we contact the Learning Channel, and they can do Makeover Story on us? That would be ahoot!
