Default Cholesterol & Triglyceride results 1st 6 weeks

I had my cholesterol done the day before I started Atkins 6 weeks ago and again today. The results are amazing!

The biggest improvement is my triglycerides. They went from 501 to 131 in 6 weeks! Over 500 is considered very high and anything under 150 is considered normal.

My good Cholesterol HDL went from 25 to 29, which is still too low, but at least it's getting better. Normal range is 40-59.

My bad cholesterol is 136, but it wasn't able to be measured six weeks ago because of my high tyglyceride count.

The Dr. kind of disregarded the change in my triglycerides. She figures my first reading was wrong, but I know it wasn't because I had a reading of over 450 ten years ago.

I've also lost 19 pounds and feel great.

Good job! If you scroll around the Cholesterol / Heart Diseas forum you can find some tips on how to futher increase your HDL (a high HDL has been shown to be protective of CVD, wherease high Total Cholesterol, in and of itself, has never been shown to be indicative of CVD)

Cheers,
Nat
