Hi Sunkist!!!! Welcome!!!

Well I see you have like nothing to lose (5 pounds?), and it's true this WOE is very good, but I guess you should try reading Neanderthin or the other Paleo diet to get a more "scientific" idea of the way of doing this... cuase then with all the knowledge in your hands you can decide how to go about it...
For example: I have periods where I'm completly Neanderthin and some times I have to add things to my diet , like cheese...
So, anyway, if you have any questions I'll be happy to help out...
Have a great weekend
Mamasita

Hola Carmen:

Claudia

Hi mamasita
Thanks!! I am actually at my goal weight right now of 125 and although in the past I've been lower, I do NOT want to be that thin ever again!! I really just want to be healthy.

I think it's a good idea also not to be sooo strict with any diet that you end up going to the opposite extreme & having long down times of eating anything & everything in site. Maybe like once a week or whatever works for you having something you are particularly craving is okay - (Except in my case too much bread cause then that usually leads to an all week episode - ha ha!!!)

I'm reading The paleo Diet & also Neanderthin.
Hope evryone is having a good saturday!!! It's hot in california!!!

Welcome Sunkist! Congrats on your weightloss! I agree with you on not losing TOO much weight. I looked at some photos of myself when I was 10 years younger and actually think I was too thin. In fact, what I once thought was sexy I now see as scrawny! I think that the older you get, the more flattering a little weight is, especially around the face. Let us know how the Neanderthin reading goes. it's a great book.
Carmen.

Hola Claudia!

Cuídate mucho y a ver si hablamos pronto.
Carmen.

Thanks Carmen
Right now I just want to focus on health because without health looks don't mean anything. There are alot of girls in my neighborhood that will do whatever it takes (or take anything) to be skinny. Los Angeles is the diet/body concious capital of the world - weird. But I want to look healthy with glowing skin, bright eyes etc.

so far so good.

I definitely know that cutting out breads, starches etc is the biggest aid for helping me feel better. I don't about you all but when I do eat breads, I feel like someone slipped me about 2 valiums - totally sleepy & lethargic!!

have to go - hope everybody does great!!

Sunkist:

You look gorgeous!!! What ever you're doing it's paying off...and you're right the thing is to be healthy... I prefer to be a little heavier than have my face look like it's skin and bone...
Well keep it up
Claudia

Carmen:
a mi manera...
Bueno espero que sigas bien...
un abrazo,
Claudia

Sunkist, I agree about looking healthy as the best way of looking beautiful. There is nothing prettier than shiny hair, smooth skin and bright eyes. I think low calorie diets tend to give you a haggard look. In any case, you seem to be doing very well. You are really pretty!

Claudia,
Hola!
¿Alguna sugerencia?
Un abrazo,
Carmen.

Gosh nela
Thanks
Yeah - I don't like that haggard look either. I have alot of good skin tips from my Swedish grandmother - ha ha!! She believed in keeping your face out of the sun (I do tan a little on my face - I just don't bake it!
And thrn dry skin brushing & saunas were a big part of her life growing up in Sweden. I do the dry skin brushing every day and a sauna whenever I can.

Plus she always used rose hips in tea & soup and made candy from it and that has really high vit c content.

Dr. Paavo Airola (a swedish dr.)has written some great books on health and skin care that are available in the library and on amazon.

i never really break out with pimples but my skin can get really dry!!!

I've done really good this week and even when my husband brought home chinese food - I had ordered my chicken & vegetables steamed and I passed on the rice-then I added some lemon juice & lemon oil and it tasted pretty darn good.

we're going to the movies tonite so I think I am definitely going to have my ice blended mocha

Hope everybody has a great weekend
