Default Hot sauce: too good to be true?

I love me some hot sauce. But i always thought it had a few grams of carbs and sugars in each serving (70+ servings per bottle, of course). I was looking at Frank's Original Hot Sauce and it has zero carbs and zero sugars. Yay! Should I assume I could drink this stuff if I wanted to or not? It does have a lot of sodium, and I know that too much sodium is bad for anyone, regardless of diet. Is this OK for the LC WOL?

Todzilla:

Eat all the hot sauce you want but I wouldn't suggest drinking it. I use tabasco on nearly everything, including my eggs. YUM! No carbs until you start crossing the line into something like a barbQ sauce. mad

I've heard that Hot Sauce is fine, just watch out for the sodium. Eat up!

Default MMMmmmmmm, hot sauce!

Hot sauce is fabulous. Mix it with butter and put it on chicken - is basically a wings sauce, but is good on the rest of the bird as well. My other favorite thing to do with hot sauce is to mix it with sour cream and eat it as a dip or a sauce. It is great on, well, everything!

Thanks folks, I appreciate your input. Speaking of dips, I love 'em. But there's nothing really "chip-like" except pork rinds we can eat...is there?

Aside from Pork Rinds? Not really.

But both cucumber slices and celery are great for dipping.

a couple of teaspons has 0 calories, 0 carbs but when you start talking larger amounts, there is a little bit there.
3.5 ounces of tobasco sauce (that's nearly 1/2 cup) have 3 grams of carb and 15 calories.

Almost everything has at least a trace amount of carbs, but with hot sauce I doubt you'd be in danger of going over your carb limit hehe. Myself I adore Tobasco sauce.. it does really add some kick to a lot of boring food.
