Default Cheeseburger pie

Just made my what i shall call my 1st low carb recipe which was the cheeseburger pie recipe.
And i must say it smelled absolutely delish haven't tasted it yet but if it tastes as good as it smells i will be well pleased thing is i dont know if to have this as a cold breakfast as i am getting a bit sick of sausauge, bacon and eggs but dont know if my stomach could handle mince at 10am. i was dying to try it when it was hot but decided to let it cool and will try a piece tomorrow anyone else tried this cheeseburger pie?
I have to admit i thought this would turn out a disaster but it looked really good and came out exactly as the recipe said golden brown on the outside i didnt think the topping would set but set it did.
If there are lots more easy recipes like this i will be sorted as i am now needing a bit more variety even tho i am finding this easier than i thought it's nice to do something thast not jsut basic steak, chicken, fry ups etc etc.

How was the pie? No, I've never tried this recipe. I must admit I do tend to stick to plain cooking a lot of the time.

Eating mince for breakfast is fine. It is a mind over matter thing!

Let us know how it tastes, I saw the recipe a while back but haven't got around to trying it, I picked up some turkey mince yesterday and might give it a go with that.

The pie was excellent and i can't believe it turned out as tasty as it did even my kids ate it i was very dubious as how it would turn out because the top filling of egg's,cream, cheese and mayo looked very watery when i mixed it altogether but it came out like a souffle and when it cools it goes to normal size.
I reheated it at my work(so reheatings n/p) ~ 10 am which seems a bit odd? mince for breakfast but it was really tasty.
I added some paprika, garlic salt, tomato puree to the list of ingredients the reason for the paprika and tomato puree was to give it a bit colour as i like the red effect u can give mince not 2 much puree tho just enough to take the grey colour of the mince away.
It also turned out a lovely golden brown colour on top just as it says it would
BTW Don't be tempted to add salt to the egg mixture i didnt and it tasted real good without it.
It was a resounding success for me of course all u wummin can vary ingredients (as wummin seem to be able to do n/p) but i just stuck to the basic ingredients with the added paprika, puree n Garlic salt.

also one thing about salt i put a level teaspoon of salt and about 1/2 tsp pepper and it was just perfect for my tastebuds course we all have varying tastes so you season the mince and cook to taste.
10/10 for the cheeseburger pie.

Since i'm getting a dab hand at this the Baconburger pie is next on my hit list

Yum! I really enjoyed that, to satisfy my spinach cravings I mixed some into the mince mixture (I used turkey thigh mince) along with a shake of Montreal Steak flavouring.

When I put it in the oven it looked really unappetising and I thought it might end up in the bin, but it came out looking and smelling GREAT! This gets a big thumbs up from me as you could add lots of things to the base to vary it

Kelly the recipe for cheeseburger pie doesnt have bacon in it this was the recipe i used but i omitted the olives.

Cheeseburger Pie
Total carbs 9c. Serves 4
Ingredients:
500g minced beef
50g finely chopped onion
150g chopped mushrooms
100mls double cream
2 heaped tablespoons of mayo
150g strong cheddar grated
3 eggs
salt & pepper to taste
Fry mince, onion and mushrooms together until cooked season to taste, drain off fat, add Lee & Perrins sauce.
Place in a greased foil covered deep pie dish, flatten with spoon.
Beat eggs add mayo, cream and cheese.
Pour over the top of mince, drop olives around the dish and bake in oven Gas mark 5 for 20 to 25 mins until set and golden brown.
Leave to cool before taking out of pie dish, remove foil.
Cut in to portions and wrap in cling film
This freezes very well.
Lovely with salad, cauli mash, or stir fry (Great in lunchboxes)

Optional 1 Tablespoon Lea & Perrins 2c and 10 black olives

I bet the baconburger pie is just as good tho !!!
i was certainly impressed by the cheeseburger pie dead easy and great for brekkie.
