Talking The Scales Moved ... !

I've been obsessing with my psychotic scales from hell. I subject
myself to the agony of weighing myself every time I went to the
bathroom. Yes I truly believe I am Obsessive/Compulsive (but that's
another story ... but hey, my closets & dresser drawers DO look nice).
LOL

My psychotic scales from hell would show me one weight for a few hourly
weigh-ins then mid-day it showed me 2 or 3 lbs. more. Can you imagine
the agony of defeat after the elation of a few hours earlier?

Anyway, I noticed a few days ago that for 3 days it has been pretty consistent and ......... drum roll here please:

I have lost 5 lbs. Yippee!

I haven't made it back to induction per se and kind of figured I was on OWL but consuming less carbs, not drinking enough water and only getting in "some" exercise so I have no idea what phase I'm in.

If y'all remember, I had lost a bunch of weight last autumn due to near
starvation from illness. When I finally was able to eat my body gained
back the exact amount that I lost and stayed there. I was thinking that
I should wait until my body was satisfied that I wasn't going to do that
to it again before I made any changes that would allow me to loose
weight. I felt my body would in self defense, hang on to everything
fearing I was going to starve it again.

Well enough time had passed that I felt safe in attempting another go at
LC. I had for the past six months or more been pretty much eating LC
(no rice, potatoes, limited pasta, bread, etc.). If I ate any of the
no-no's it was in small portions and seldom. I think LC was ingrained
in me from my early days of induction (July/2000) and have tried to eat
LC for the most part, not counting, just eating LC in general with the
odd forays into the forbidden land.

Anyway just wanted to share my joy with y'all about my 5 lb. weight
loss. How do you spell ecstatic?

Congratulations on the 5 pounds gone. That's great and should be very encouraging.

Please avoid discouraging yourself by weighing at many times during the day. It is completely natural that you weigh more after eating or drinking and as the day progresses. Food and water DO have weight and you now have them in your stomach so they add pounds. In fact, you will probably weigh 2-3 pounds more about an hour after you get up EVEN IF you don't eat or drink anything! I don't know why, but have tried it out often enough to know.

So only weigh once per day, preferably in the morning, after visiting the bathroom and without clothes. That's your usual lowest weight of the day and can be compared from day to day or over the course of a week. (The only exception I know is that you may weigh less at night on the day before you lose a few pounds. That's what happens with me.)

Keep up the good work. You'll get there.
