Default Food Scale

Anyone know of where I can find a food scale to measure ounces? Also, when measuring meat, do we usually measure before cooked or after its cooked?

you can get them at target, amazon.com, linensnthings, bed bath and beyond...
I use fitday, and they have a choice to enter the oz after it's cooked, so that's what I do, since they usually shrink so much when cooking.

I got a Salter electronic scale on the net....it was expensive but well worth it. It measure both ounces and grams and does liquids as well!

I can also put a plate on it, and use that as the "zero" then add food to the plate to measure it (great with messy stuff...or liquids)...it only measures what is on the plate and does not add the weight of the plate into the total (otherwise you will have to weigh empty plate then subtract total from plate with food...not very convenient)!

That's the TARE function, and almost all entry level scales have it. You don't have to get a super expensive one to get that feature.

I've been drooling over that salter scale you have but can't justify the price at this point.
