I have been doing this WOE since June 14 '03. I've lost 22-23 pounds. I have never felt better or had more energy or been less hungry!
I don't use the ketostix everyday, but I do use them. I love Fitday. I use it daily to register my food intake and my weight. I like seeing the little ball moving closer to "healthy weight".
I cannot imagine not eating this way and am shocked and thrilled at the weight loss!

I'm in my 8th week....20 lbs lost. The biggest motivator for me is the way I feel and the way my clothes feel. I have Graves disease with hyperthyroidism and have managed, in just 8 weeks, to get my thyroid levels under control. I'm exercising every day for the first time in over 7 years.

I use fitday every day, except I tend to slack on the weekends. I do not use ketostix as I can tell when I'm in ketosis by my breath.

I started Atkins exactly a year ago. I'm down a bit over 50 lbs, and don't even look -- or feel -- like the same person. My original motivation was appearance, but I discovered that high-glycemic junk makes me feel awful. Nowadays I don't need much motivation, though, because I simply am not much interested in carbage. I love protein, fat, veggies, and dairy, don't miss starchy stuff at all, and make some mean LC desserts for when I do want something sweet. Besides, I'm in the best shape, best looks, and best general health of my life, and there's no food that's worth giving all that up.

Ive been on Atkins almost exactly one month and have lost 10 pounds. While Ive generally kept my carbs way down, Ive cheated a little along the way, eating some sushi and drinkng a few beers. My weight loss has been fairly steady and I should reach my goal weight in about 6 weeks.

8 weeks and 27lbs.

I measure all veggies, cheese, cream, etc. To me, it's fun, lol. I know I know.. but it's almost like LCing is my new "hobby"...

Motivation? Watching the pounds drop away. Why on earth would I cheat or plain stop? I'm losing... something that doesn't normally happen easily for me. I'm 30 yrs old and have sat on the side lines of life for too many years... I wanna play too dammit!

Oh, and I've never used a ketone thingamajig. I don't find them necessary, for me. The scale, tape measure, and baggy clothes say enuff. I know what I can and cannot eat... I like to try to keep it simple, I guess.
