Question 2 cups of lettuce?

Can someone tell me what two cups of lettuce would look like? Size of hand or soccer ball? I have no idea!! I've read about how to weigh it, but that is just gonna happen!

Thanx!!

It's a decent portion, simple and sure method, buy a measuring cup. I tear the lettuce up in small pieces to fit in the measuring cup, if it's a bit hire then the rim, I don't fret... After a while you'll be able to eye it better.

Good luck...C

Lettuce has so few carbs, and so much fibre and water, that you could safely cut up a whole head and eat 2 softball sized measures of packed lettuce bits. BUt you can also include green and red and yellow peppers, cucumber and much more in these two softballs. Just don't pack quite so much.

hi there,

It depends on if the lettuce is left as a whole leaf, or whether it's torn into pieces or shredded. One member found that 2 cups of torn lettuce, packed into the measuring cup ... filled an old Cool Whip container when it "fluffed up".

Um, you are having more in your salad than just lettuce, right?? Atkins states you may have 2 cups of salad plus one cup of cooked veggie. The list of salad veggies includes cucumbers, celery, scallions, mushrooms, tomatoes (watch the carbs though), radishes, etc etc.

hth,

Doreen
