Default Ketosis?

What is a ballpark figure of about the time it takes you to get into ketosis? I had 3 spoons of potatoes tonight and I'm concerned I might have kicked myself out. If so how long can I expect to be back in?

Technically, you can overcome the carbs in 48 hours, or so (from what I have read).

I just went throught that by accidently drinking a glass of Sprite at restruant the other day. I went out of Ketsis about 3 hour after and with very stricked eating (re-induction) was back in Ketosis in less than 24 hrs.

Three spoonful of potatos may not have been bad enought to set you out of Ketosis. Just eat re-induction foods for a day or two and you should be just fine.

Good Luck!

Actually if you truely knock yourself out of ketosis it takes 3 days to get back in. But if you are lucky 3 spoonful of pototes may not have knocked you out. It is best to check you levels the next morning and not that night to see if you are in ketosis or not.

The net carbs for a half cup of potatoes is 13.9 carbs. I don't think 3 spoonfuls would matter.

Hi,

Well, I was eating carbs up until about midnight before I started Atkins. Started Atkins the next day, by that night I was in ketosis on the sticks. So I guess its one of those typical "individual" results thang.
