Default Tofu Grayy?

What about using silken tofu? I picked up a package because it said "gravies" on the label, along with "smoothies". Has anyone made gravy using soft silken tofu as a base?? I was thinking that if I warmed it and stired in a strong boullion that maybe .....just maybe I might have something.

Try either xanthan gum or guar gum. You buy them in powder form in health food stores. Guar gum thickens a LOT of liquid so start with 1/4 tsp to a cup of liquid. The good thing is that it thickens both hot and cold liquids. Gives a translucent sauce quality not a creamy gravy quality.
