Default Slim fast makes low carb bar

I just saw slim fast makes a low carb meal replacement bar. Seems they are getting the idea too. I didn't try it yet but i am surprised they would release a product that has a such a different philosophy behind it.

I believe it's called "jumping on the bandwagon."

I just wish that all the people who have heard vaguely about low carb won't rush to try it, and then shout about how low carb doesn't work.

Low carb is a relative term.
Maybe we should use the atkins term which is a little more specific -- "Controlled Carb Nutrition".

I was looking the other day at the various low carb bars at Walmart. I was analyzing all the carb counts on the back of the wrappers. Now I can't remember which bar had which counts so I could be doing Slim fast a true disservice. But I couldn't beleive that most of the bars had in excess of 20 grams of carbs! Now I realize maybe for some people that is still low carb, but not for me.

Most nutrition bars sold in stores are for meal replacement or protein power, so the carb count is really high. The Low Carb Slim Fast bar does state it is low carb and made with the standard Malitol and Sucralose and has a NET carb of 3g.

Crazy. I was just thinking, I have a feeling that in about 5-10 years, there will be low carb everywhere. Hopefully! Anyway, at least I don't have to call slim fast "slim slow" anymore.

I tried one.. the banana kind. It was kind of sickly sweet, and pretty small. It must have been close to pure Maltitol! I'll stick to my Keto bars!

I was thinking of the Slimfast bars until I read the back of one bar
34 g of carbs and 2 g of fiber so it still has 32 g of carbs in it
Yikes-thats a day and a half to us 20 carbers
