My wife and I just recently started the Atkins diet. We are still in the induction phase of the diet. But we are noticing all the great products that Atkins and several other companies have on the market. Of course none of these products are listed in the induction phase of the program. Are they okay to eat? Or should we wait until the two weeks is up?
Thanks for any help on this.

Hi there,

IMNSHO you will do best if you wait until Induction is over. Even then, I would use caution. Remember, even the Atkins products are on the market to make money.

The LC bars and candy contain sugar alcohols which can drastically slow weight loss for some. If you go to "Low Carb Tips" on the orange bar at the top of the screen, you'll find an excellent article on sugar alcohols - as well as a lot of other useful info.

All the best!

I just wanted to make a point about 'needing something sweet'. One of the purposes of induction is to stop the sweet cravings. Satisfying those cravings with LC bars will not get you over the cravings. And IMHO if you don't get a handle on the cravings you will always be fighting them and may be a recipe for failure.
