Question What do I look for in cream cheese, sour creams?

Hi I am new to LCing I would like to know if there are certain cream cheese, Mayos, sour creams, cheeses that we can NOT use? I heard that shredded cheese is not good, that I should buy the block of cheese and shred myself. What do I look for in the oducts I want to buy? Thanks so much

look at the sugar counts and look at the total carb counts.

I buy the full fat philadelphia cream cheese, sometimes they have a generic brand, but compare the counts.

I heard the preshredded cheeses were dusted with flour to keep them from sticking, so the block cheese you know is just cheese.

I also make sure I buy the full fat sour cream, not the light and use real butter, not margerines.

Get the whipping cream that you have to whip yourself and add your own splenda to it to sweeten.

I usually buy Helman's real mayonaise, I think Kraft also makes one.

Next time you go shopping spend some time looking at the product label and comparing the different brands and types. You might also go to atkinscenter.com and print off the list of induction foods, I just don't know if he lists name brands of those types of foods.

Hope this helps.
