Question do people really stick to 3 to 4oz of cheese??

Just wondering if some people go over the daily alotted amount of 3 to 4 ounces of cheese a day that Atkins states. I find this very difficult on some days. I am wondering if there are people out there who know that going over on cheese stalls them and what their experience has been? Thanks!

I stick to 3-4 oz., too. I LOVE cheese, so sometimes it is hard. I have heard that it does stall some people, but I have to have some cheese everyday.

I started Atkins on the 24 of June and you can see my posted weight. Yes, I think I was eating way more cheese than I was supposed to. I'd have an omelette and only like ham and cheese and then I'd have a pile of broc or cauli at night and also pile on the cheese. Oh, lets not forget a ceasar salad with parmesan! I'm learning more here and trying to back off.

I usually have 2 oz of Cheedar Cheese each day for one of my snacks. But there have been a couple times when I've had as much as 8 oz a day (rare). Your not being graded here. This is your diet. Do what works for you. Some people cheat form time to time. Me I'll just have some extra cheese every now and then. Never noticed any stalls that following the extra cheese days.

Cheese won't let me feel full--I can eat the whole thing of almost any size package I bring home. Not sure what is going on, but it became clear that there are some foods that give me the "enough" signal and some that don't, and it's just easier to leave the "don'ts" in the store.

maybe later in the plan, but not today. I suspect it's a food intolerance, could be lactose maybe something else. Don't need to know; just need to incorporate the fact.

For me, I absolutely adore cheese, ever since I was a boy. Usually, I have at least 6-7 oz per day, and it's never stalled me, not even during induction.

I remember there was a time when I got some really nice parmagiano regiano on sale at the local Italian grocer, and muched down a full lb in a single day. No weight gain, stall, or otherwise.

So, I think it depends on the individual. In my view, it's logical for you to try extra cheese--if you really like it--and see how you respond to it. If your weight loss is unaffected, by all means, eat and enjoy the cheese! If not, then limit it. Either way, it makes no sense to me to just limit it matter of factly simply because a limited few might have issues with cheese while the most of us are unaffected. Let's hope you're one of the latter!

Best of luck,

Frederick

Thanks for all of the replies. I guess I feel like I had a little too much cheese today and I wanted to check and see what people think/do with cheese amounts. Thaks again!

Cheese for breakfast, Cheese for lunch, and nice hot cheese for tea!!

I love cheese!!! I love to melt it over chicken for dinner, on my hamburger at lunch, and in an omlette for breakfast!! Not to mention snacks!!

I have been losing weight but I think at a slower rate than I should be. I decided last that I had too much this weekend (after visiting a cheese house this weekend) and the scale moved in the wrong direction this morning!!!

I am limiting my cheese now. I wonder if I will get whoosh tommarow with no cheese today?

I used cheese as a between meal snack when I first started, but found it really didn't take the edge off of my hunger. I usually just sprinkle some shredded cheddar on the lunch salad and leave it at that.

When I did eat it, I was sure to measure and stayed at around 3 oz. I was never big on cheese anyway (except mozzerella on pizza, pasta, etc.).

Cheese can be binding, so yes, I stay below the 4 recomended oz.
I love it and wish I could have more, like an entire brick

I really think it's a 'your mileage may vary' thing. I was stalled for a while, and as soon as I laid off the cheese ( I now stick to the 4 oz rule) the weight started coming off again. But, that's me.

Clearly there are many of us who have a love(maybe too much) for cheese. I am glad to see though that it does not stall everyone, I guess I have to experiment a little with it and see. Again, thanks for all the replies!
