Default Frozen dinners ~ Wal Mart!

Went shopping this a.m. at Wal Mart - in the frozen foods section, I found four different kinds of frozen dinners - all of them less than 12 carbs, without deducting fiber.

The brand is "Chef's Choice" and they run about $3.00 here in Florida. Has anyone tried this brand? They look pretty good, but I was too cheap this morning to try one.

Also bought some low-carb bread (Nature's Own 100% Whole Wheat) - only 7 or 8 grams/slice, and they're a normal-size slice. Finally big retailers are responding to the demand for low-carb foods!

I just heard about these recently and had to get them... One meal has approx 40 grams of protein so they are well worth the 3 bucks... I was incredibly full after eating one of these, my only gripe would be that there wasn't a whole lot of veggies and that they only had 3 choices here in Houston...

Thanks for the tip. I will check my Wal Mart this week when I do my shopping and definitely try them. I've been waiting on someone to get low carb frozen dinners out there. I've tried some of the frozen pizzas & other items from specialty stores and they were disgusting! I'll let you know...

Unhappy coffee creamer

Hi,
Does anyone know if coffee mate creamer is legeal on our low-carb way of eating? It just has 1g carb per tsp. I'm still in induction, 9th. day. I love my creamer! But will give it up if I have to.

Non-Dairy Creamer is sooo bad for you! Full of chemicals and trans fatty acids! icky stuff. Switch to the real stuff instead and pretty soon the nasty fake stuff will be a vague memory...

Try looking on their website www.walmart.com and if you scroll to the bottom of the home page, they have a store locator. All you need to do is put in your City, State and zip code, select "grocery" and it will show you all the Wal-Marts near you that have groceries.

The ones that I bought were:

Chicken, cheese, green peppers, onions in a marinara sauce... Very filling and yummy.

Chicken, broccoli, mushrooms, etc. in some sort of creamy sundried tomato sauce. Didn't like this one as much and I felt the need to add some additional broccoli...

There was also one with beef and veggies, but I didn't buy it...

I went shopping today and my Wal Mart only had two flavors. Both were chicken. I just tried one with zuccini and squash with cheese in a garlic tomato sauce. It was good. I hope that they get more flavors in. It's very convenient. The only thing I saw that worries me a little is the sugar and the sodium content. The sugar grams were 5-6 on each and the sodium was thru the roof!

I noticed the sodium too... I'm not too worried about the sugar at the moment since I'm on maintenance...

I figure they're probably not great for a 3 meal per day plan, but for a few times a week, they are super convenient...

Was the bread in the bread aisle, or was it frozen?
