Unhappy Help!!! After long stall - weight gain!!!

For the last 3 months I have been steadily losing - 14 pounds. I was fine with this slow weight loss, so when I stalled out for a few weeks, I didn't worry about it. BUT, today I weighed and have gained 2 pounds back. Very bad. I am hoping this is water and drank a gallon today. I am using fitday and my percentages are always 5% carbs, 35% protein, and 60% fats. I had read that those were the best percentages. My calories range around 1000-1500. I have a salad a day, almost never eat LC candies, and drink my water. I know this diet works, my husband has been eating almost exactly what I have and he has lost 25 pounds. I have decided I have the wierdest metabolism and the fat gene is getting smarter. Any suggestions?

Actually your calories are to low. You should eat no less than 10 to 12x's your goal weight. And no more than 10 to 12x's you current weight. Of couse this is for those of use who count calories.

Yep, Mary is right. I have a minimum caloric intake chart for women sitting in front of me, and for a 145 pound woman (your goal weight), your minimum intake should be NO LESS THAN 1696 a day. You are not even meeting that right now. I told this to someone else on this site that was having the same problems, and as soon as she started upping her cals, the weight started coming off. Your cals should be between 1700 and 2000 a day to get the most benefits from this WOL.

I have a hard time keeping my cals up myself, and because I excercise a lot I need more. Silly, isn't it? Eat more, lose more!

Yeah, very silly huh. The main reason why is that your body say's, hey wait a minute here, I'm not getting enought fuel to run things here, something must be happening out there, better conserve and store fat.

Question for SHellyf34...I workout a lot as well. I run 20 to 25 miles a week and do weights as well. So if I am burning, let's say 500 calories per workout, am I ok to be eating around 2000 calories a day? My current weight(153) would put me at 1836 calories at the high end. But does that include my exercise? Or does the exercise allow for/call for more calories? Thanks!

Here is an example of my calorie usage for today from Fitday.com:

Calories Burned Today
source cals % total
Total: 3532
Basal: 1656 47%
Lifestyle: 1314 37%
Activities: 562 16%

So, if I am eating 1800 calories, I am creating a 1732 calorie deficit, hence my body is burning 1732 of it's own calories. I think you are fine at 2000 calories a day, just stay a couple hundred above your BMR and you should continue to lose weight. That is what I try and do.

Kind of. Under "Activities" it will tell you your BMR (for your current weight) and calories burned from general activities. Then they have an assortment of other activities that you can add in (exercise and such).
