Question I'm still hungry...

I thought that I wouldn't be hungry after getting rid of so many carbs?

Does it take awhile to get to that point? I eat b'fast around 6:30am, then need a snack around 10, lunch about noon, then I'm hungry again by 2:30/3...I can't go to bed w/o a snack either.

All of my snacks are LC (cheese, cucumbers, mushrooms, etc.). I'm drinking about 120-150oz. of water. Does that have anything to do with being hungry?

Yep! It takes a while.

It's it amazing how much you will find yourself eating at first. Just keep on eating when you are hungry. Later you will still have hungry days, but they will be fewer and farther apart.

I REALLY have to get over that block! Even eating out, I think - don't get the burger, get the chicken or better yet, fish! I'm almost there to ordering a bacon cheeseburger - that fat wall is coming down!

Thanks for the encouragment to keep eating! Can't wait to miss some of those snacks - I'm too busy during the day to stop and eat all the time!

Wannab, most days I find I'm not hungry at all! That is so strange for me, LOL. In fact if I'm really busy, I have to force myself to eat. One interesting change I've noticed since being LC is that when I used to get hungry, I'd feel it in my belly (that growling empty feeling). But now I don't get that unless I go many, many hours without eating. Instead, I start feeling tired, weak and shaky, maybe a twinge of a headache. I'm starting to learn that this means EAT! LOL Funny how our bodies change their signals after awhile.

Anyway, it helped me in the beginning to eat very frequently, so I didn't get hungry. Every couple to three hours is good. Just have a snack or small LC meal. That keeps your blood sugar nice and steady. And eventually, you'll notice that you don't get as hungry as you used to. Good luck!

Wendy
