Question booze and bar-b-ques

I am going to a barbie this sat
Thats not a problem, but I will be drinking (im only human after all and I need to let loose once in a while)
Now my fav tiple is vodka with fresh orange which I know is v.bad
So my next is Vodka and d.coke which contains aspartume (which I have been using in this diet and it dosent seem to have stalled my weight loss!!) and caffeine (which I haven't had)
So the question is do you think I would be better with caffeine free diet coke in my vodka?

I think you are splitting hairs at this point. Your body will burn the alcohol vs. fat when you drink. The caffeine issue is likely secondary to that.

Have fun!

Default Plenty of humans don't drink

Bigger risk is that you'll drink enough to forget you're LCing in the first place, and hit that BBQ sauce.

Booze & BBQ?! Coming from South Texas these are my two favorite things in the world! I would say if you HAVE to drink, try drinking something you're not just gonna gulp down. Alcohol and sweet mixes always seem to go down way too fast. How about a G&T or Vodka & Tonic? Or how about a good single malt Scotch? That way you get the social buzz without all the carbs!

Default Vodka...<sigh>

On the rare occasions I can get away with drinking, I usually have it with Diet Coke, since our bar doesn't stock any more-acceptable mixes.

Caution if you choose tonic.. make sure its DIET tonic.. otherwise you get sugar!

I prefer diet Squirt when at a "real" bar, if at home or somewhere I have more control, I like to mix with many different flavors of diet Shasta... no aspartame, although it doesn't seem to bother me, or even sugarfree lemonade or iced tea.

Be careful, though, I've found drinking throws me off a bit, not only that, but lowers my resistance to "naughty" foods.

How about Low Carb Beer? Beer is great for a BBQ and Michelob Ultra is what I drink when I am social drinking...
