Hi
Interesting discussion, about the abs. I remember reading that holding weights and doing waist exercises, like bending from side to side, can thicken your waist. But most exercise books/sites say that the abs are not like other muscles and if you don't use weights to work them, you can exercise them six days out of seven. I suppose it depends on the type of exercise you do. I tend to avoid doing them at the gym to save time, intending to do them in the evenings at home and then forget or don't have the time or inclination, and regret it later. So this is one of my goals this time: the Matthews Ab workout every day at home, without fail. Now I've written it down I will have to stick with it

B4:

bicep: 11.0
natural waist: 30
abdomen at navel: 35
widest part of abdomen: 37.5
hips: 38.5
butt: 41
thigh: 19.5
calf: 14.0

My Goals:

- To do it! I don't expect a huge change in body size, but if I can stick to working out at least 75% of the time that I plan on doing it, I will consider myself successful. I want to be fit again.

- A little more specifically: I'd like to get more toned in my thighs, behind, and abs.

- Specifically: to fit into my black jeans again!

Kristine,

I have a question. Do I post my stats and pics in the original post that you have listed for me. And then, will I get a line under my name ?

Answered in your journal Maxine!

Wow....I just got back from my first workout at Curves. I'm gonna love this!!!!!

Worked up a great sweat, heart rate was a bit too high so I will have to work on that, but all in all it suits me to a T. It was my intention to plan on three days a week, but I already can't wait to get back there.

Can I join this challenge? I'll have to start slow b/c I'm in the middle of getting a full back tattoo, which means a couple of days every week that I can't exercise. But I had been thinking about starting BFL when the tattoo is done & a challenge like this is just what I need to get motivated.

So if I can play, my goal is to exercise 5 days a week until the tattoo is done (should be another 3 weeks) and then start BFL immediately after.

I'll take photos if it's OK for me to join. Here's my "before" measurements:

Weight: 118
Upper arm: 10.5
Wrist: 5.75
Bust: 36
Under Bust: 30.5
Waist: 27
Belly Button: 33
Below Belly: 35.5
Thigh: 20.5
Calf: 14
BF: 26% (according to Tanita scale)

Wow, that's stunning! Can't wait to see the finished product! I have two tattoos, a celtic arm band and a bonsai tree on my lower back. I am planning on getting another soon, two faeries circling each other (for my two little faery girls ...)
Nice to meet you!

Sarah, just wondering...How long is the whole tattoo going take? I'm not sure how big I want to get mine yet, since I already have one on my back above my bum. I'd like it to be on my back up a bit higher, but I'm unsure of how that would look.
How much is yours going to end up costing? neither of mine have been over $200
