Default Up before 6 am? Atkins to blame?

I started Atkins 10 days ago. I'm a stay at home mom and have 2 small children and normally wake up at 8:00 am. Since I've been on Atkins, I get up earlier. Today, I was out of bed at 5:30 am. Has anyone else experienced this? It is actually nice to to wake up to a peaceful home and listen to the birds chirp.

Angie

Default Freedom from fog

I have always been an early riser, but I seem to be more clear, more quickly, since going LC. Freedom from the carb hangover and fog, which was so constant I hardly noticed it was even there until it was gone.

Predawn is a really good time to write in a journal. Tristin Rainer (New Diary) and/or Julia Cameron (Artist's Way) are good sources of jounal-keeping suggestions.

Sleep seems to be deeper on LC, hence less is needed. Fewer wakeups during the night also helps.

It IS nice, isn't it? I haven't needed an alarm since about my third week into the diet. The more interesting point is: so you mean SUGAR was disrupting my sleep!?!?!?!

i don,t think i,ve slept past 6 o clock in the last 2 years.all l-cs fault.i used to like a lie in on a weekend but no more. i must admit that when i wake up i feel clear headed and full of energy. one of the perks i think. the mornings are the best time of the day.

Default Early Riser

Yeah, I have to get to work by 6am. Normally, I make it in just on time or a bit late. Since I've been on the diet, I am way early. The other day I came in 25 minutes early. Today, I came in 1 hour before I was due!!!! Can you believe it? I feel clear-headed and ready for the day. So, I have to credit it with lcing.

ciao

I haven't had to set my alarm at all since starting low carbing. I used to push myself to get up by 10am now it is always 7-8am. Just can't sleep in anymore! Incredible.

Haven't changed anything except the LC way of living. Must be to blame! Keep it coming!
