Exclamation help! going out to dinner...

I'm going to dinner tonight at an Indian restaurant...I'm actually frightened. I'm still trying to stick to induction foods only. Does anyone have recommendations for what I can eat?!

How about a chicken Korma dish or tiki masala? Go for one of the curries that is cocunut milk based, rather than tomato based and ask them if they will cook it without sugar (they may not be able to if the sauce is pre-made, but you never know). Maybe butter chicken...

Mmmmmmmmmmmm, I am getting hungry!

great..this is good advice. Obviously rice is out of the question, I wonder what vegies/salad they offer if any?

I am going to have to beat the naan bread away with my spoon or fling it off the table...it's soo good it's dangerous

Any meat cooked Masala. Make sure to tell them "no naan, no rice" so you won't be tempted. And panang curries are usually good since they use coconut milk and chicken broth as a base for the sauce. A friend of mine told me too it has total carb 13.5 g and 2.5 g fiber.

Thumbs up

Hi Pixel,

I am from India. Most of the dishes offered at the Indian restaurants are good as I have them everyday for my Induction. You don't find a great variety of salads.. If u ask maybe they could serve u raita..(yogurt+cucumber+tomato+onion) or salad with sliced of cucmber, carrots, onion and tomato. Some of them do have lettuce salads.. but they hv krafts dressings.

I myself prefer taking the tandoori chicken or chicken tikka masala & a green vegetable.. Palak paneer (spinach + ricotta cheese cubes). You may want to leave out the paneer but the spinach is too good.

Stay away from Biryanis and Nan, Roti & Parathas

Enjoy your Indian food!!

The indian spinach dish mentioned above is EXCELLENT. Tandoori chicken is also a fabulous choice, pretty much just chicken rubbed with spices, no conflict. Mmm... indian food.

As always with restaurants, don't be afraid to ask them what's in the dish. You have a right to know!

Everyone has given me such great advice! Thank you so much everyone...I feel very confident about going out ordering, I can enjoy myself!

I may have to treat myself to some of those spinach cubes, they sound too good. GREAT!
