SAMe

SPII (Swarzbein Principle II, The Transition) p. 135

"Many people have a low-serotonin state but do not realize it because they do not feel depressed. But you can have low serotonin levels and not feel depressed if you are skipping meals or self-medicating with refined sugar (me!), caffeine (me!), and/or alcohol (ME!) all day long." etc. etc.

Hey Cicely - re: low serotonin, did I mention that I LOVE SAMe????? Yes, I know I did. Like 5,00 times! Anyway, it is doing fabulous things to my BRAIN Okay. Not that fabulous. I mean, it IS legal! And we're not like those damn legal-reefer smokin' Canadians (too bad - that would have been my next suggestion to raise your serotonin.) NO ONE GET YOUR PANTIES IN A WAD, JUST JOKING.

LMAO! Yep, I guess the SAMe would be whole lot easier than growing weed in the basement (which I don't have) . But a lot less profitable LOL . (Just joking for any drug-busting lurkers )

I've seen how much you like the SAMe and was gonna do some research on it today. I've really been considering it. It wouldn't scare me nearly as much as taking a Rx SRI.

Ooh, thanks for the salmon link. That was great! Gotta love Doc mercola.

EXACTLY my thinking! And since I'm not exactly suicidal or having any of the more serious symptoms of depression, I CERTAINLY can't justify the risks.

New report: believe I will be cutting my dosage in half (goody! 1/2 as expensive!), as the wf website said. Seems like I'm having serotonin overload, which is Thrilling (capital 't'). The downside is that I didn't sleep as well as I'd like for the last 2 nights and then I get out of bed and can't nap all day either - not appropriate for healing ye ole adrenals, me thinks. But I have been feeling super relaxed yet energetic - so it's not like I'm really speedy or anything, just think I MAY want to fine tune. Of course, I also forgot to take my Zyrtec last night (antihistimine), which usually helps to knock me out. So...we shall see.
