Hi all,

I made my first trip to the low carb centre yesterday. Loved it and splurged on lots of stuff....

It was really packed there and I found myself looking around and thinking, "How many of these people here shopping belong to the low carb list?" It felt funny and i wished I talk in person with some of you.

Is there any format for any group meetings or get-togethers for in-person support?

Sally

Thanks for the info on the low carb centre and website - I'd heard about it but wasn't sure if it would be worth going, since I'm in PoCo. I think I'll try it maybe this weekend - anyone know if they have a deli? I'm on the hunt for sugar-free, nitrite/nitrate free meat.

They don't have a 'deli' but they supply lunches from "Low Carb Express" www.lowcarbexpress.ca and they make other meals too - I had THE BEST tuna sandwich (6.5g carbs) I've EVER had there and that's the truth - OOoo and I saw some blueberry pies and cheesecakes in the making (ok I'm drooling now!)

Indigogirl and Pixel: You guys should start your own journals, so people can talk to you! I am in New Westminster and love to get together with other low carbers for coffee or a meal.. Please come and visit my journal - let's get to know each other!

(incase you're not) Its just past Tsawwassen, its a tiny US resort town, one main store lots of gas stations, not a whole lot going on there, but we live practically inches from there and the super market there sells Diet Rite and the low carb beer (found some other Splenda sweetened drinks) if you don't feel like driving all the way to Blaine or Bellingham. Its handy for us anyway and I'm really hoping they bring more low carb stuff in. We have a PO box there and there's places to have Fed Ex and UPS packages delivered (for resonable fees), so ordering from the US has become quite easy for us. Gotta do what we have to to keep this diet going eh?

OT, thanks, but I guess I don't have PM privalges, it says I'm not allowed in?? oh well.

Greetings! You should now be able to send and receive PMs because you have over 20 posts (the web master thinks that means you are a serious person! On the other hand, your mailbox is FULL already...so again you can't receive.

Meanwhile, I was hoping you could give me the names (and addresses if possible) of those "...places in Pt. Roberts that accept Fedex or UPS packages"? Feel free to PM me once you've emptied your SENT and INBOX folders....

I travel back and forth to the mainland from over here on Vancouver Island quite regularly, and would like to pick up some stuff without now and then without going all the way into Bellingham like I do. Can u help me?

Thx in advance!

This place is next to the Post Office http://www.pointrobertsusa.com/tsbshipping/index.htm

There's another place that's just about a block past the border its called
The Letter Carrier Its address is
145 Tyee Drive Point Roberts WA 98281
ph # (360) 945-0515

Both charge about the same for accepting packages (TBS has email notification, LC doesn't), I'd use either one (haven't yet) just the 2nd one is closer if I'm not going to the PO to check my box.

(still can't use PMs, don't know why? I got an email saying you tried to send one, my options has it checked, but am still mot allowed to send or receive PMs?? Oh well)
