Default South Beach Diet

has anyone tried this diet? Looks almost the same as Atkins, without the high fat percentage -- I'm beginning to get sick of all the mayo and such, probably because of the summer and I'm not very hungry.

thanks.

hi Vikki,

There's an ongoing discussion thread about SBD in the General Low-Carb section .. http://forum.lowcarber.org/showthread.php?t=115195 .. Opinions, pros, cons ..

The menus for phase 1 of SBD do seem like Atkins OWL, with a bit higher CCL and lower fat level. Moving to phases 2 & 3 it's more similar to Sugar Busters, IMO.

Some of the science & nutritional information isn't accurate though, and there's no references .. I bought the book and skimmed through, and will do a more thorough reading when I have time.

hth,

Doreen

I've ordered the book (used through amazon.com = cheaper) and am looking fwd to seeing what it has to say. If you go to their website you can sign up for their free emails which give more info as well. I may give the plan a try...
