Default Week 2- Weigh in Tomorrow

Tomorrow is my 14th day of Induction and I need to weigh myself. Not sure of the results but hopeful. This site has helped tremendously.

As I walked through the supermarket today, I felt like I they were drug dealers offering their drugs to everyone who entered. Their drug being carbs and processed sugars. I couldn't believe how much sugar I saw on the shelves.

Is anyone else amazed at the amount of carbs/sugars that are present in nearly every aisle of the supermarket and how they seem to try to capitalize on the addiction (to sugar) ?

Hi
First of all congratulations on your success so far!
I agree about the supermarket! If you think about it, all the REAL food is around the outside perimeter of the grocery store. You hardly ever have to go up and down those center aisles at all.
Except of course, thats where my Caffeine-free Diet Coke is! HAHA
Good luck with your weigh-in!

I'm hitting 14 on Sunday, noticible change in girth, but waiting to hit the scales on the 14th day. Good luck!
(I also noticed I'm not tempted as much to but that crap they sell!!)

Post junkfood profit

Chew on this... beyond the profit made on Alcohol and Cigarettes... think about what's made on junk food.

If you take a moment to 'look' at junk food and what's redily available for the uneducated consumer, you'll see something obvious. Profit! Let's look at fast food. It's usually fried or a burger or both. It usually comes with a softdrink. They normally ask you if you want to BIGGIE size it. And it's almost FREE.

Now consider what's in that nearly-free meal. Carbs, sugars, trans-fats, cholesterol (LDL's),etc. Think about the empty calories in that meal. Think about the processing involved to get it that way. Ack! I like to make this joke when I used to go to fast food places...

Fast food guy: " can I help you sir? "
Me: "sure, give me a number 4 with coke please".
FFG: " would you like cheese? "
Me: "sure".
FFG: " would you like to upsize your order for .25 more?"
Me: "sure".
FFG: "is there anything else?"
Me: "yeah, I'd like a side order of paddles with that #4!"

** Half the time they don't get it. Paddles refer to the gizmo (defibrillator) that re-starts your heart when you have a heart attack! **
