Default Advantage Bars

What's the story on these bars? It says 2g on the front of the label, but when you look at the back and subtract the fiber from the carbs, it varies between 10 and more. I have been doing Atkins for 4 weeks and only lost 5 lbs during induction, and nothing since. I recently started having one of these pretty much on a daily basis and I am wondering if the bars are causing me to stop losing.

Hi Olivia,

Yes, the bars can be a definite trap. They contain sugar alcohols, which may or may not cause an insulin reaction.

You can read all about sugar alcohols in "Low Carb Tips" on the orange bar at the top of the screen.

Even the Atkin's bars? Gee, I thought they were safe. Well that gives me a direction anyway. Thanks. I will see what happens after cutting those out.

Thumbs down Advantage bars

Yes, I agree. I have been doing the Atkin's for about 10 days now (I'm on Induction) and I thought it would be ok to have an Advantage bar and man was I wrong... I didn't lose any weight on the 2 days that I had the bars and when I stopped, I lost another pound.

I actually did quite well during my 2 weeks of Induction with having an Advantage Bar every day for lunch. I lost 10 lbs the first week and 4 the next week. I think it all depends on the person.
