It's driving me crazy. What is LOL?

At first I just assumed that it meant "Lot's of Luck," but in the context of many threads, it just doesn't make sense.

Also....when people refer to their spouse as their DH, what does that stand for? ("Designated Hitter" always comes to mind). I know the SO is "significant other," but I haven't a clue what DH stands for.

Is there anywhere on this site that explains all of the little abbreviations and acronyms?

Also, is there somewhere that will tell me how to put a picture on my thread?

Finally, what in the heck do the chicken legs represent under people's names?

I've been wondering these things for a couple weeks, but didn't want to sound like an idiot.

However, my confidence is soaring and I feel great about myself these days....so I really don't care about sounding like an idiot...

Hi there, LOL means a lot of things. It can mean 'laugh out loud', 'lots of laughs', 'lots of love'. But it usually means laugh out loud. Also, I'm pretty sure that DH means 'dear husband'. the chicken legs and those pictures below people's name mean how many posts they have written. You can click on the picture and it will tell you how many posts each one is worth. I hope I helped you out a little bit!

DH can also mean dear heart--On another link I heard them discuss their significant other/wife as amy dear heart---Aleka

April, welcome to our group. You will find a lot of support here. We all weigh and look differenlty, but one common thread is that we want to eat healthy the Atkins' way. You'll find lots of great ideas, recipes, and more. Like one reader said, look at past profiles. You can always respond to them even if they werent' written this week. I've learned a lot since I started in late April. As for the picture of people, or the one they want to represent them, those are called avatars. Click on Profile towards the orange bar. Then click on Edit Profile, At the bottom is avatar. My problem is I don't know how to change my pic to 100 pixels. Maybe that's a new thread possibility?
