Default Jello

I have heard several people on here saying you can have the Knox Jello from the recipe which is on here. However, I didn't see it on the inuction stage. Can we have it on induction?

In Dr. Atkins book, he give meal plans for all seven days of induction. Even thought Jello is not listed it the acceptable food list, he does have jello dessert in the induction food plan. There for, I have to say that sugar free jello is ok.

Default Jelatin

Jelatin is protein.. although a low quality protein, it has no carbs so you can do many things with it while on induction.

I use the Jello brand SF flavors but I find the flavor too "timid" for me. I tried adding citric acid (aka lemon salt), but Jelatin loses it jelling capability with added acid, so I got some Knox jelatin, and I add one envelop (plus the citric acid) it to the Jello mix and it comes out firm and tart, just the way I like it..

I use the Knox geletan and use Crystal light pre-made in bottles to make it. It is sweetened with liquid sucralose....No carbs!!!!

Enjoy

Well, I made the Jello and it was pretty good. The only thing I did wrong. I got some heavy whipping creme and added a little bit of Vanilla to it. I should have also added a pack or two of Splenda

Just my personal opinion, O.K............................ IF you are just starting induction, one of the main purposes of induction is to ween yourself off sweets/ treats, so,,,,,,, to start out, right off the bat having a substitute dessert, per say, I personally don't think it's a good idea. The best way to do the plan is to do that 2 week induction without any Fake foods, not to say that s/f jello is fake like the shakes or bars( which Atkins also does not recommend during induction) But I guess what I'm saying is, give your first shot at this the best shot and don't look to fill a sweet need, cause that's what your trying to kick, right??

Hope I don't sound too bossy, Cheers Kathy

Hey Athena

Just follow the directions on the Knox Jello Box and use Liquid Crystal Light as the liquid.

Enjoy

These jello recipes so great - I've been buying Jolly Rancher (made with splenda), but anytime you can make your own, it's probably better. I made yet a different recipe the other day - Root Beer jello. You just use a can of diet rootbeer. Soak the gelatin in 1/4 cup water for a few minutes in a sausepan, then heat it till it's all dissolved. Add the can of rootbeer and refrigerate. The flavor was a little weak, so I might eliminate the water and just soak in some rootbeer instead. I think I''ll try the one with the crean next.

Don't think you are too bossy at all

I agree with your statement. However, the reason I made it was for a little snack before bed since I was a little hungry. I am not one to eat sweets. Before my new WOE, we would make a cake or by a cake and have to throw 3/4 of it away. Sweets have never really appealed to me.

But, if someone had a problems with sweets, I would agree 200% with ya
