Unhappy Bad Headaches on Induction - Any advice?

I'm on day 3 of induction and have had a cracking headache since 2am this morning. I feel tired, disorientated and irritable.

I realise that this is the withdrawals that I've read about but what, if anything, can be done to alleviate these symptoms? How long should I expect them to last?

I'm in this till the end so I will just have to put up with this if there is no other option!

Hi Omo, welcome to another Aussie!

I'm so sorry to hear about your headache, matey. I know exactly what you are going through.

The good news is that the worst of it will be over by the end of tomorrow.

Have you tried any painkillers? Don't waste your time with Panadol - even Panadeine didn't help me. I found ibuprofen +/- codeine (Nurofen Plus) to be the most help.

Otherwise, drinking plenty of water is alleged to help. Didn't help me because I already drink a minimum 4 litres daily, but for people who don't drink much, the headache can be worsened by dehydration.

Otherwise it's just a matter of waiting. In a few days time you'll feel better than ever. Honest!

All the best, matey.

Rosebud

Do you promise?

I've tried panadol but it didn't do anything - I'll try the Nurofen Plus.

I'm already drinking plenty so I don't think I'm dehydrated.

These poor kids have been getting barked at all day - I'd better get off to the chemist!

Thank you so much for your advice Rosebud - and yes, it is good to see another Aussie on this site!

Thanks again!
