Tash
I noticed a weight loss of about 2-3 lbs the 1st day or 2 and then 2-3 the next 2 days so in 5 days total I lost 6.5 lbs because you are losing ALOT of water during the 1st of induction which is a good thing .
You are flusing out all the yucky carbs in your system .
I have been on Atkins for 3 weeks now and have lost 10 lbs -It does seem to slow somewhat for people after the 2 week induction but that is normal.
Good luck-this is an excellent place to get alot of info that will help you succeed !!!

Well this is my 5th day on induction and I am following it strictly but I have only lost 2lbs. I am constantly in ketosis, the strips show anywhere from 'trace' to 'low' to sometimes 'moderate' amount of ketosis taking place.
I was just wondering as to how am I doing in terms of weigh loss. No matter if i lose the weight or not, my diabetes has certainly be in control after a long while so I am going to stick to it (hopefully)
thanks

Tash,
As you go further along you will start to notice a difference in how your clothes fit more then what the scale says --especially if you are exercising -Muscle weighs more then fat!!!
I was told to not rely on the strips because sometimes they give a false answer and people can rely on them too much-Same with the scale
It has taken me 3 wks and I am finally not weighing myself every day -
Besides some peoples metabolism is slower then others
Are you on any meds that could be hindering anything??

Don't get too frustrated - I lost the initial 6.5 lbs in 6 days and then it has taken 2 wks to get the other 3.5 off . And during that time I have gone up 3 lbs and down .5 lbs and so on!!

It will happen -just stick with it -I was the same only a week ago-So frustrated and just did not want to keep going if I did not see alot of results

Someone told me --"you did not put on the weight overnight so it will not come off overnight!!"

Hang in there and GOOD LUCK!!!!!

Smile Hello

My starting weight was close to yours and I lost a pound a day the first 7 days of Atkins and then the next 7 days I lost 2lbs for a total of 9lbs during induction! After that point I averaged a pound a week up until I quit a week ago and began CAD.

Hi,
thanks, yes I was taking Glucovance (4 tablets /day) before starting induction but now am at (2 tab/day). However I am going to talk to my doctor to switch me to glucophage since I am getting normal reading of my BG.
