Default party food ideas

Help! I need some good party food ideas. DH just told me that his poker buddies will be over on Thursday so I want to make stuff that I will be able to avoid tempation with. I was going to make some stuffed mushrooms and jalapeno poppers but I can't think of what else to make. These guys like to chow down. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Hatman - What a yummy combo. I have never tried a pickle in the middle of a roll up. I think I will be eating that tomorrow! Thanks for the suggestion!

Cool, you dont know what your missing with the pickle thing. We call them polish popsicels. They are so good. Shrimp and crab would also be good....hummm maybe not, if they really chow it could be quite costly.

I like the lobster or crab spreads you can find in your seafood aisle or sometimes in the cheese section. The one I currently have is made by "Sea Gold" but most grocery store chains have a version of it. 1 carb per Tablespoon. I also buy Bremner Wafers to use as crackers. These are found in the "upscale" cracker section or sometimes with wines. They have 11 grams of carbs per 7 crackers. Not too bad but don't go crazy with them. I find that if I can have a couple, I'm pretty happy.

Here's a recipe for an outstanding salsa dip:

Spread 8 oz of cheam cheese in a heat proof dish ( I use a pie plate)
top with a layer of a salsa of your choice
cover with layer of cheddar cheese

Heat till melted in either oven or microwave.

Carb count will depend on the salsa you use.
