Question Grocery Lists

I was wondering if people could lend me a hand by posting their average grocery list.

I went to the store today and bought what I thought would be enough for atleast a weeks worth of meals....but on second thought... it will only last 3 days!

So, anyone want to contribute, I'd be most grateful

I am feeding myself, DH and DD (age 10 1/2) - they eat most of what I eat and then I add to that carby side dishes.

Each week I purchase for my Low carb eating and as the basis of our main meal together (dinner) the following (varies but this is a pretty typical week):

Meat:

1 large pack of chicken thighs - contains 10 - 12 thighs (which I roast on Sunday and use for snacks, lunches, and a super fast dinner on Mondays when I am running home to pick up DD and take her to Girl Scouts within half hour of getting home!)
1 regular cut up fryer chicken (Sunday or Saturday dinner)
1 roast (Saturday or Sunday dinner and one more meal as a leftover)
2 packages of hamburger (taco salads on one evening... a hamburger without the bun on another)
1 pkg of pork chops
1 pkg of bratwurst sausages and good saurkraut
2 pkgs of Bacon for breakfasts

Fresh veggies:
Sliced mushrooms
Romaine lettuce
Already diced packs of green/red/yellow peppers and a similar pack of diced onions
several tomatoes
several fresh zuchinni (stirfried in olive oil with some diced tomatoe and freshly grated parmesan - YUM!)
LOTS of brocolli crowns (a bag filled to the brim)
about a pound of fresh green beans OR brussel sprouts (what ever looks best)
pack of celery hearts
Several cucumbers

Dairy:
1 pint of heavy cream
2 dozen eggs
1 tub of challenge WHIPPED butter
1 carton of regular cube butter if running low
1 small carton of sour cream
2 gallons of whole milk for the rest of my family
1 lb of grated sharp cheddar cheese
1 lb of sliced mixed cheeses (hard cheeses)
1 lb of grated fresh parmesan if running low... lasts along time
1 8 ounce cube of whole cream cheese

Freezer:

Tyson grilled chicken strips (make great ceasar salads for my lunches)

Other "inner" aisle items:

1 pack of bottled water to take for my lunch each day
1 can of artichoke hearts in brine (awesome on salads)
2 cans of black olives (snacks)
1 bag of whole raw almonds if I am running low
Canned White Chicken meat to make chicken salad for lunches and snacks
MAYO if low
Salad Dressings if low


Those are the things I consistently purchase. Obviously, I vary the menu each week... but these are pretty much staples.

Oh my gosh! What a great thread. This is so helpful to me. It is so difficult to think ahead and plan a weeks worth of food for not only me, but for my family, too.

If anyone else out there can post their grocery lists, as well, it would be great...Any takers?

I decided just recently to cut my trips for groceries to once a week. Just felt like I was constantly shopping and buying things I dont really need on every trip.

Here is approximately what I get for 2 adults and a small kid (not much different from the one already posted):

<hr>
Meat & Co:
- around 4lbs of chicken drumsticks (use them the same as DoubleD )
- 4.5lbs of mince meat for taco salads and tacos for the rest of the household
- Whole chicken or some chops depending on what we feel like
- some smoked meats for snacks
- eggs


Fruits and veggies:
- 6 red/green peppers
- tomatoes
- cucumbers
- 2 large lettuces
- zucchini
- mushrooms
- garlic
- spring onions
- one large cauliflower (for caulirice)
- 3-4 avocados

- 3-4 packs of blueberries
- 2 packs of strawberries
- 2 packs of rasberries (if good price)
- peaches
- 1 or 2 melons
- lots of bananas for the little one

Dairy:
- Parmesan (for adding some flavour here and there)
- Mozzarella (great as a quick snack with some smoked meats)
- Extra tasty cheddar (for taco salads)
- Feta (for veggie salads)
- Cream (every so often, I dont use much)
- Butter
- Yoghurt
- Sour cream (for taco salad)

Other/Top ups when needed:
- macadamia nuts (bag of 1lb)
- top up my almonds reserves
- Extra Light Olive Oil (for cooking)
- Extra Virgin Olive Oil (for salads)
- Soy Sauce (for caulirice)
- canned sardines (for snacks)
- smoked salmon

Thats all I can think of at the moment. It is working for us so far. And I love not spending every free moment of my life in the stuped mall.
Plus I shop at the markets where food is cheeper.

I also shop for hubby and kids but here it goes:

Meat
3-4 lbs hamburger
2 pkg of bacon
2 pkg bologna
1 pkg pepperonis (pizza or snack topping)
2 pkg kielbasa sausage
sometimes some polish sausages for hubby
1 pkg turkey lunch meat
1 jennio O ham (slicing and dicing)
6 cans tuna
1 can pink salmon
SHRIMP if I get a bonus at work!

Veggies/Fruit
2 lb Premix salad (you can pick out the carrots. Usually runs from 99cents to $2.49 a bag.
1 lb whole mushrooms
3-4 cucumbers
3-4 zucchini
onions (if low)
1 eggplant
1 bunch endive leaves (for tuna and such)
some fresh herbs
celery (i buy the whole thing and cut it up myself)
carrots for the kiddies
apples and oranges for the kiddies
bananas for the kiddies (i do sneak one!)

Dairy
4 8oz pkg of cheeses (usually shredded Pick N Save will have specials sometimes in the middle of the night, like 4 for 5 dollars, so I buy extra and freeze it until I need it)
4-5 pkg cream cheese
2 doz eggs
pint heavy cream
2 gl milk for everyone else
unsalted butter if low
country crock butter for everyone else
8 oz sourcream
8 oz ricotta cheese
parmesan cheese (spagetti kind)

Other
2 cans lg pitted olives
2 artichokes in oil
1 pkg sardines
1 can clams
3 pkg poptarts (family size)
3 pkg fruit snacks for the kids
dorritoes
pretzels
popcorn (for all of us)
2 pkg porkrinds (for me yummy!)
2 pkg oreos (definitely not for me!)
2 box cheerios
1 box lucky charms
Case Diet rite and another case of other diet soda for the rest of the family

I also shop the health food stores for:

Walmart
Carbsolutions BBQ & Nacho Chips
Chocolate and vanilla protein powders
Keto Sticks
A few candy bars enough for a weeks worth of temptations
beef jerkey snack (I usually make my own with hamburger and a food dehydrator)

HealthHut (as needed)
Atkins Brownies & Muffin Mixes
Keto pizza dough
OJ & Drink Mixes
Atkins Syrups

Definitely make sure to have almonds and flax seed, soy flour and a good selection of flavored extracts on hand along with your favorite sweetner close by when you get the urge to cook something.

Most of all have fun cooking & eating.

My budget is anywhere from $300-$400 a month. We usually shop every two weeks on paydays and side trips for my snacks as needed.

We shop every 2 weeks with a run in between just for more letttuce or fresh vegies and milk for kids
Oh and its DH and 5yo son and 2yo daughter

produce:
2-3 heads iceberg letuce
1 head red leaf or romaine lettuce
2 cucumbers
1 green pepper
6 roma tomatoes
radiashes
2 zuccini
1-2 heads of cabbage
Apples or oranges for kids

Meat
Always
1 3 pound bag of boneless skinless chicken breasts, sometimes 2 bags but then I always have some leftover to the next shopping week
1 big box 10 pounds frozeen premade hamburger patties
several of these but not all of these- which ones depends on whats on sale -about 5?selections from this list-every 2 weeks
chicken quarters to cook up for cooked chicken dishes
1 large pack bratwurt about 2 1/2 meals
2 pounds ground beef for tacos or chili
large asorted pork chops
country style pork ribs-boneless prefered
bacon 1-2 pkgs
polish sausgae 1 pkg
corned beef when on sale
deli meat for sandwhiches
precooked sauage patties for quick breakfasts
*hot dogs, baloney and a few lunchables for the kids and dh

Frozen section
giant bag of broccoli
2-3 small bags frozen califlower
2 chef choice low carb frozeen meals
1 pint le carb low carb frozen dessert
*pizza, pot pies,french fries for the carbomunchers

Dariy
2 cottage cheese-mostly for them I eat sparingly though
a great big pack of american cheese
a great big bag shredded montary/colby blend
2 sour cream
1 cream cheese
*milk for them

I go to a discount grocery store for most of the other stuff..they have like dented cans and torn boxes but the inner bags are intact and I have never gotton anything bad from them

So the other stuff
green beans in cans
asparugus
instant lipton tea
saccarin tablets
bottled water
black olives
green olives
salad dressings
*boxed potato mixes, boxed rice dishes, ranch beans, corn, creamed corn, cereal, candy, pop juices and chips for them

And when needed
Carbsolutions or Atkins RTD shakes
Keto Ketchup

And I about spend 200 every 2 weeks...wow I know but I never want to go hungry

Wow! Great thread. I was sitting out the table making out a grocery list and thought I would come on here for some new ideas, low-and-behold, exactly what I was looking for!

School just got out and I was wondering what to do for the kids' lunch. I mean, everything I think of is high carb and I was feeling guilty, but it sounds like everyone feeds their kids the same things I do, so now I feel better. It sure is hard to have some of that higher carb foods in the house, but almost impossible to keep them out!
