Default Wine during induction?

Is it ok to have a small glass of dry red wine if total carbs for the day are still under 20?

Sorry Jeff,

You are not allowed wine during induction. But it may be good to know you are allowed to have a small glass after you move on .

Well, I love wine, I have been making my own for many years. It is the one thing I refuse to give up, however, I did not have any for the first 3-4 weeks on this way of eating, then once I saw it was working so well, and I read Protien Power, and it allows one glass of wine with dinner. So I now am back to drinking my wine, and it has no effect on my weight loss, However, I make a deal with myself that for every glass of wine I have to also drink a huge glass of water, even if I've already had my 64 oz's for the day.
So give it some time, then go ahead and have a glass, just remember to have extra water.

Kathy

Default you need to wait

I had a glass of wine while on induction, I knew I shouldn't but I did...i gained 2 pounds and it took a week until I was back to losing........This upset me and I haven't had any wine since but probably soon I will try some again.

Hi Jeff,

The problem is not he carbs - it's the alcohol. The body will burn alcohol before it burns anything else - so while it is burning the alcohol you cannot lose weight because you are not burning fat.

Leave the wine till later.

it is tough to give the wine up. I make my own as well. The LC really lowers your tollerance for alcohol.

Lightbulb Ok...sigh!

I will abstain from one of life's great pleasures till I'm well on my way. It helps that I'm not interested in carbs in the least at this point.

Thanks for the feedback.
